Hello people!
I’d like to tell you about a cleanser from the Drunk Elephant brand.
My requests for cleansers are the simplest - they mustn't leave my skin squeaky clean or irritate or dry it out.
Somehow, even the high-end brands manage to release cleansers that suck, so I’m very attentive while buying this or that unknown product for me.
I wasn’t actually much interested in the cleanser from DE but I received it in a beauty sample box.
The reviews of it are rather questionable which only pushed me for immediate testing out.
Product main info:
Size - 150ml (full size)
Price - $32
Made in the USA
The brand is animal cruelty-free.
Outer look:
The cleanser is packed in a standard soft tube.
It’s got all the needed info on the back, like the list of ingredients, manufacturer, how to use, etc.
The main con of such a regular tube has turned out to be its cap. You see, the brand is famous for its complicated packages but here I think they’ve done too much. When I turn it counter clockwise, the cap moves and the gel comes out. And it all might have been great but when I try to close it, the superfluous gel still pours out and I have to either wipe it or wash off with water. If I don’t do it, my entire bathroom shelf would be stained with the gel. But these are my own nags, so I know that many people don’t even pay attention to such issues.

Product description:
An innovative jelly cleanser that removes all traces of makeup, excess oil, pollution and any other grime from the day. Free of SLS, fragrance and essential oils, Beste™ No. 9 is totally non-irritating, non-sensitizing and appropriate for every skin type.
Gel:
It’s clear and average in thickness. The smell is barely there and it’s the plainest for such a product. I almost don’t feel it.
The gel is easy to lather as well as wash off from my skin.
How to use:
Squeeze Beste™ No. 9 into palm and gently massage over wet or dry skin. Add water to lather. Rinse well and pat dry. Use nightly or in alternation with the other Drunk Elephant cleansers
My impressions of use:
Beste No. 9 is just the plainest everyday cleanser. Nothing special about it. It doesn’t dry my skin. I also don’t notice any irritation or tugging or reddening. It cleanses delicately, yet not good enough to leave the squeaky finish behind.
This is a CLEANSING GEL. I mean it is to be used after a cleansing oil/micellar water/balm. It cleanses off all the impurities and leftovers of my makeup, sebum or SPF.
I’d like to note that the list of ingredients states Cantalupensis Fruit Extract which might be potentially irritative for reactive skin types.
Characteristics-wise, this product reminds me of my fave from COSRX Low pH Morning Gel Cleanser. They’re like twins. If you don’t want to splurge $32 for the cleanser from DE, pay attention to the one from COSRX. There’s almost no difference between them.
I can’t be picky about it, except for the cap. But I have to say that this isn’t the best formula out there. The quality of this cleanser equals to the Asian mass-market products.
The price is much higher than it should be but if you want to support the maker and splurge $32 for a cleanser, then go ahead. You won’t regret doing it.
Thanks for your attention!
