Hi everyone!
I’ve started using Korean products beginning with this cream. I was tired of heavy formulas then. Sticky skin, uncomfortable wear and insufficient hydration made me look for a new cream.
I wanted the product to be lightweight yet efficient.
So, today I devote my review to Elizavecca Aqua Hyaluronic Acid Water Drop Cream.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Price: about $10-12
Volume: 50 ml
WHAT DOES THE MANUFACTURER SAYS:
This aqueous cream transforms into moisturizing water drops that soak deeply into skin while forming a nourishing barrier on the surface. Infused with hyaluronic acid, aloe, and red ginseng to soothe and revitalize skin, brighten complexion and diminish wrinkles for a healthy, dewy look.
INGREDIENTS
I don’t to pay any special attention to this aspect. Since recently I realized that the main thing is that the product performs well. However, here they are:
Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Glycerin, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Niacinamide, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hyaluronate, Red Ginseng Extract,
Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Milk Protein Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Seed Extract , Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract , Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Adenosine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance
PACKAGING
The package is pretty, cute and I would even say super cute.
The cream comes in a packaging made of cardboard. It’s not closed safely, but it was a little bit of a hassle to open it. I even damaged it.
Inside we see these cute eyes.
The tub was covered in a thin film and under the cap there was a protective upper lid. It’s great that the product is covered so tightly, don’t you think? It’s especially good for the price.
The tub is made of matte glass. It’s quite heavy. I like that the cream is expensive-looking. Moreover, I like the matte effect in everything.
There is also a sticker that proves the product’s authenticity.
TEXTURE AND SMELL
Elizavecca Aqua Hyaluronic Acid Water Drop Cream has a nice and not in-your-face smell. It reminds me of perfume. However, I don’t know what to compare it with.
The main peculiarity of this cream is the texture. It looks light as a feather in the tub, which is actually true in reality.
You can use this cream both with a spatula and your fingers. I prefer the second option. I know that some of you find it unhygienic, but I just wash my hands very properly before application. Nevertheless, a spatula would be preferable. Why? Because the cream melts away and forms drops right in my hands.
Oh, right, I forgot to mention one thing.
These droplets do really remind me of water. They spread out on the skin very easily. The only difference is that this texture is even softer. This is the first time I use such a formula for my skin, so it was really fascinating to observe the transformation of the cream.
A small amount of the cream is enough to moisturize my skin, so I’m sure I’m gonna use it for quite a long period of time.
Now I’ll show you how it works:
1. Apply cream.
As you can see, it starts melting and getting transparent at the bottom.
2. Spread it out.
This is how the cream would look like if you leave it on your face this way.
Don’t do this! I’ll tell you why later.
3. Rub it in gently.
See these droplets? They are the main peculiarity of this cream.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE CREAM
I’d like to tell you about the main mistake I made for the first 2-3 times. I was applying the cream straight to my face and after the droplets were noticeable, I was leaving them that way thinking that I didn’t have to do anything about it. I thought they would absorb themselves. As a result, I had sticky skin with an oily sheen. Elizavecca Aqua Hyaluronic Acid Water Drop Cream wasn’t absorbing. In the morning my skin was not moisturized at all. At first I was really upset, because my skin desperately needed this hydration!
But later I decided to apply the product differently and massage it in gently. It felt like if I was distributing water over my face, but the feeling was even more enjoyable and relaxing. The cream was absorbing in a few minutes completely and my skin was getting better!
My skin wasn't taut and dry anymore. Additionally, it was not tacky and I had no uncomfortable feelings after use. By the way, my skin was so even and matte.
Then I decided to apply the cream before makeup. The thing is that I always moisturize my skin before applying foundation or powder.
I was so glad when I found out that the foundation worked really well with the product. I worried that my skin would be getting oily faster, but no. The foundation applies well to my skin and doesn’t flow. Moreover, it doesn’t leave any streaks.
The oily sheen appears as usual. By the way, I haven’t found any information about its primer and mattifying properties, but it does fulfill these functions.
I think also that the cream ensures an accumulative effect. I mean it’s not like: the product absorbs, works well, but the skin is dry the next day again. It does work!
I haven’t changed anything in my skincare routine. When I started using this cream morning and night, I’ve noticed that all my dry bits started disappearing. However, the effect was not so obvious after using it in the evening only.
So, apply it day and night for the better results.
I have combination skin, which is generally oily yet dry on my nose, cheeks and especially around my lips, so annoying.
In the wintertime it gets even worse.
I’ll show you the picture now, where my skin is in bad condition. I was preparing a review about a lip pencil, but when I saw this picture, I was shocked and decided to erase this photo! As far as you can see, the foundation couldn’t conceal my peeling and cracks, but emphasized them. I had these problems not only around my mouth.
Now look at the after picture. I’ve been using this cream actively day and night. My skin looks much better with and even without makeup at the moment, see? My skin looks fresh and healthy.
In the photo I’ve used the Pupa lip pencil.
