Why wasn’t I much into using sunscreens before?- Because I didn’t have this product! :)👆
***
Hey there,
Jokes aside, many of us neglect using a sunscreen, because we just can’t find a comfortable product to wear. It’s either drying, greasy, irritating or streaky…
And I should say, I had these issues, too. After a while I got used to using sunblocks and was fine with it.
However, these gripes were still there and I continued my search for a perfect product. I wanted to get not only comfortable wear, but also a highly secure and safe sun protection. We all know that not all sunscreens can provide it. To top it off, most of them are chemical absorbers. That’s why I was looking for the most comfortable physical blocker. The thing is that physical sunscreens reflect UV rays from our skin acting like some kind of a shield, plus they are photo-stable.
And HERE WE ARE! I found it, although I was really on the border if I should try this.
So, let’s get it started…
I found this cream on Amazon and it’s the EltaMD UV Physical Broad-Spectrum SPF 41 Tinted Sunscreen.

Active ingredients and warnings
The cream is thick and has a nice lightweight consistency. It’s not greasy, heavy or silicone-y. The smell is hardly noticeable and enjoyable.
At first I was worried about the tinted side of it. When I first learnt about this product, there were few reviews on the Internet and the swatches seemed too dark and orange-y to me. I was on the border if I should try this, because I have fair skin.

Directions and sun protection measures
Physical sunblocks are safe and do not require multiple touch-ups. The application every two hours is more like a precaution.
My skin: I have combination skin with finicky pores. Moreover, it’s thin, sensitive and prone to hyperpigmentation and rosacea.
Now on to the good bit:
The Physical Broad-Spectrum sunscreen applies and distributes very softly and effortlessly. It doesn’t feel tacky or greasy. It feels just slightly damp, which is enjoyable. It’s not heavy, too thick or white, which is typical for many physical sunblocks. It spreads out evenly and streak-free. More than that, it doesn’t emphasize peeling or I should rather say it actually does that immediately after applying, but when it has set, it smooths out all dry patches.
The hint of orange disappears and only a slight tint stays on my skin, which evens out my skin so well actually. It covers up my pores and all imperfections.
A slightly dewy finish immediately after applying
The finish is dewy right after applying, but it sets really quickly and becomes more natural-looking. Additionally, I tap it with my fingers and the tone gets more matte and I don’t even need any powder after that.
The natural-looking finish after it has set
The coverage is weightless and utterly undetectable on my skin. Moreover, it doesn’t feel sticky.
The shade on my skin
The wear is very comfortable. This product neither dries out my skin nor makes it greasy. My makeup doesn’t bleed in the heat.
Also, my T-zone doesn’t get oily that quickly as before. When the oily sheen actually appears, the coverage becomes a tad sticky and heavy yet easy to correct. I just tap it, remove the residue and touch up with a powder, if required.
It doesn’t crease or set into my pores or wrinkles. Awesome!
On my skin:
Bare face/ when I start my makeup
Right after application/ when it has set
Here, I wear only the EltaMd UV Physical sunscreen and no powder. The results after 3-4 hours after applying:
The look during the day
The product didn’t cause any pimples or irritations on me. However, it has to be removed very properly with a cleansing oil.
It has some insoluble ingredients that are hard to take off with ordinary makeup removers.
As for me, I carry out the procedure in a couple of steps with the help of a cleansing oil. As a consequence, my pores do not clog.
Upon contact with water
The expiry date is not indicated on the package, which is the only complaint I have about it
▼▼▼OVERALL THOUGHTS ▼▼▼
I started using the Physical Broad-Spectrum SPF 41 last spring and it dismissed all the other products I had. I can be safe in the sun all day and have no worries about multiple applications, hyperpigmentation, redness and other side effects. Moreover, it corrects my skin tone and all imperfections very well. For me, it’s the best sunblock so far.
I’m planning on trying the other options of the brand, but at the moment it’s the second tube I use.
The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends this product
as an effective broad spectrum sunscreen.
And I recommend it too! It’s safe, comfortable to wear and easy to use.
Happy shopping!
Bye-bye!
