Let’s talk about makeup removing today.
The first rule - never go to bed with your makeup on. Always take it off.
I read a story where a woman didn’t take her makeup off thoroughly and the mascara clumps stuck in her eyelids. That was disgusting!
It’s not only harmful to your skin to sleep with your makeup on but it’s also really dangerous.
The second rule - wash your makeup off the right way!
Don’t use soap because soap is too harsh and drying for the eyes. Besides, it isn’t very helpful when it comes to makeup removal.
I recommend 2 ways of taking your makeup off:
🔹 use a cotton round and a special eye makeup remover + a face makeup remover as well (if you use micellar water only, be sure to face such problems as eye irritation and early skin aging because of rubbing). After that, I take off the residue of my makeup with a toner and then water my eyes to take off the leftovers. This isn’t the best way for makeup removal, I think.
🔹 The best way - use a cleanser/foam/gel/mousse with water.
Lather the product in your hands and then cleanse your face and eyes gently.
After that, follow your routine skin care regimen.
The second way will definitely deprive you of early skin aging, You see, eye area skin is very gentle and it isn’t a good option to rub it every day. However, I do recommend using cotton pads from time to time, while traveling, for instance, when there’s no chance to take all your cleansers with you or there’s no water.

I apply a little bit of the liquid on the cotton round and then see it lathering. After that, I press it against my eyes and never rub them.
Just pat the cotton pad and then take it off, wiping off any residue. I call for gentle moves, otherwise you can experience a warming sensation on your eyes. Besides, rubbing always leads to skin aging.
I recommend you take your makeup off with water and cleansers on a daily basis but when you’re traveling or stay the night somewhere outside your house, use a good makeup remover.
