1. Why I bought it: my skin suffers from rosacea, that’s why I put gentle exfoliators above all. This Nuxe exfoliating gel promised to be gentle yet effective at the same time. I've known this brand for years and honestly, there are some irreplaceable products from them, while others are true fails.

2. Full name:
Nuxe Gelée Exfoliante Douce aux Pétales de Rose Gentle Exfoliating Gel
3. Size: 75 ml
4. Price: $16
5. Made in France
6. Packaging: it’s a plastic tube with a flip-top. My tube is either defective or maybe that’s the brand’s concept but I can’t open it easily. It always requires too much effort and it feels as though I break my nails. Over time all those microbeads get stuck in the nozzle, staining the top from within.
All the product information is given on the back of the tube. The expiration date is given on the seal.

8. Product description: it’s actually a slimy jelly of a tea color. And here in that jelly, you can see a lot of dark-colored microbeads - as far as I understand these are dry rose petals. The smell vaguely resembles dry rose petals. It’s a rose, yet not garden rose but a tea rose aroma-wise. It also smells of something sour. In a word, if I were to describe this smell, I’d say that it’s a fermented tea rose jam. :)
This amount is enough for one use:

The consistency is thick and it doesn’t flow down from my hand.
When I distribute the product over my skin, I can feel all those micro dry rose petals:

The product is slimy by touch and lathers a little when in contact with water.

9. My skin: It’s mixed, average pores; it is prone to breakouts and blackheads appearing; I also suffer from rosacea on the sides of my nose. In fact, I wouldn’t say that it’s reactive or sensitive.
10. How to use: I use this product twice a week maximum and usually overnight. I apply it over my previously deeply cleansed skin and massage the product in for about a minute and then rinse off with lukewarm water. After that, I follow my standard skin care routine.
11. Results: It’s so weak, especially for the price it costs. This “stuff," I don’t even know how to name it better, doesn’t do anything for my skin. The exfoliating properties are minimal here. I don’t know why they called it an “exfoliator”. It looks more like a cleansing gel infused with microbeads, which are in the formula more for the beauty rather than for the results.
I don’t face the problems distributing it over my skin. I also like that it lathers and comes off without any film or sticky residue.
This is how my skin looks with the product on (I just applied it):

After that there appears a white foam:

My skin isn’t fresh or squeaky clean after use. The product doesn’t cuddle my skin with pure sensations or anything. Nothing at all. I don’t know what component is here to exfoliate (the idea was that those rose petals would, right?). but I can dry rose petals myself and exfoliate my skin with them, but what for? It’s so doubtful for me.
My pores don’t appear smaller after use, they don’t look reduced and the same goes for blemishes. Nothing happens with them either. It’s just a fact.
In a nutshell, if you want to buy this product, mind that you won’t get a delicate exfoliator. You’ll get just a cleansing gel, infused with dry rose petals.
I didn’t like this product. I love the Nuxe brand, but here’s an epic fail, guys. It’s a fail in all the respects: texture, smell and results.
Just a flop.
Some positive sides: it doesn’t make my skin allergic, it doesn’t clog pores and my skin bears it well.
It’s a good adornment for a bathroom shelf. The design is pleasant here. And it also doesn’t fall down from the shelf.
In the pictures, you can see the before/after shots.

My pores don’t look smaller, even though my skin looks more matte, it’s a fact.

12. Spending: more than average. I bought this pack in the summer and for the first time, I was using it twice a week. Currently, when my skin care game is replenished with acid products, I use it once a week or maybe even lesser. Now there’s only a half of the tube left. I need a rather big dollop for one use all the time.
13. My thoughts: I didn’t like this exfoliator. I adore the Nuxe brand, but it’s a fail.
A failure in all terms: texture, results, aroma and flip-top issues. Nothing.
I give it 2 stars and never recommend purchasing.
