There are different oils out there, but my makeup bag in 2018 was conquered by lip oils. It started with two Clarins oils which made me believe that such a format is sometimes truly essential for dry lips and for everyday wear. But this December, another oil appeared which replaced those two for me. And this was NYX #thisiseverything.
.
Entourage:
The oil is housed in a handy pink bottle with a black glossy cap. The image is like saying: it’s for the lips only! Don’t apply it somewhere else!
The letters don’t fade even after they’ve been carried in a pocket along with keys.
The sponge applicator is quite unusual, from this point of view it’s just flat:
But here we can see these “ledges”. I use them as a stopper now when I apply my makeup on the go without any mirror. I purse my lips and put the sponge applicator between my lips and there it is.
The tip is soft and fluffy, takes enough oil without excess (thanks to the stopper). Add a sweet strawberry scent and we have something that can delight both a 14 year old girl and myself (in my late twenties). Why not, though?

Swatches:
Does a transparent oil need them? Ah, let them be:
Actually, the oil isn’t completely transparent, it has a barely detectable pink tint.On my lips:
It gives an absolutely gorgeous effect, hiding all those tiny wrinkles on my lips , as well as dry spots. Also, it doesn’t bleed. Just perfect!
The full look:
My personal thoughts:
It’s a total dupe for Clarins oil except that NYX oil contains no glitters.
I’m happy with its transparency too, because it won’t spoil even the laziest makeup.
Pros:
- Formula that doesn’t bleed
- The fact that it hides flaky lips
- Provides protection against environmental factors
- Feels comfortable on my lips
Also, this oil is less sticky than most lip glosses so it’s much easier to wear. All in all, it’s great in all respects. One of the best purchases this year that I made when I was in a really bad mood.
The effect after 10 days. Here I’ll show you the power of comprehensive approach in lip care. Here is a meh photo:
I had both lip balm and scrub but they didn’t give me the desired effect for some reason, and the dryness reappeared each time a cold wind touched my lips. Here is a photo after 10 days with this lip oil:
It was made 2 hours after application (I didn’t mean to “gloss over” the result) but the lip condition has truly improved. The dry and rough spots have become even.
And that’s what NYX released, the very NYX that sells way too vibrant makeup.
Price: $6.
The verdict:
I’m truly thrilled with this oil. It is a great alternative to pricey Clarins oils which I love. NYX can do it:) And I can recommend it.
