I love using masks. I’ve already tried lots of them with different textures, ingredients and for various purposes. Therefore describing this product everyone is raving about, I’m not being picky, I’m just telling you my unbiased opinion about it.
I got the Queen Helene The Original Mint Julep Masque in a beauty box.
Here it is:
Volume: 227 g
Price: $2-4
Country: USA
What I didn’t like in the first place is that the mask was not at all protected. I mean, when I open the tube, I see the product right away. So, how can I be sure that nobody has ever touched it with his or her fingers?
Consistency
As you have already noticed, the mask is green. And we all know that’s it’s not the mint that gives such a color. There is some artificial coloring in the ingredients.
The mask is thick, so I had a little bit of hard time squeezing it out.
Smell
As soon as I opened the mask, I could feel a well-known smell. It reminded me of a toothpaste or a bubble gum and I wanted to taste it I surely haven’t done it. After a while I realized that the scent reminded me of a Wrigley's Doublemint gum :) I loved them when I was young. The scent is very nice, but it doesn’t make me want to apply it to my face.
Ingredients
They are not all-natural. There are parabens, artificial colorings and a good deal of chemicals in the ingredients. I can forgive everything except parabens, because I don’t like the products that have it.
THE MASK IN ACTION
The mask applies and distributes on my face with a little bit of work due to its thick texture. Therefore it doesn’t go a long way. I’ve used it up after 6 applications, even though I got used to products that last 15-20 applications.
I prefer applying the masks in thick coats. But this one is somewhat strange, because it covers up my face leaving some gaps where I have large pores. It’s queer and I’ve never used anything like this before
It dries out incredibly fast. The manufacturer says that I have to leave it on 5-10 minutes, while 15 minutes are usually recommended for such masks. Alright then. I transformed into a statue in 5 minutes
EFFECT
What results I want to have from every mask?
I’m waiting for a good cleansing effect. Moreover I want my skin to be nice to the touch. It would also be perfect, when the mask makes my pores narrower and my skin tone better-looking.
How does this mask perform?
I haven’t noticed anything at all. My skin looks as it always looked. The only difference is that it’s a little bit dry now. I have combination skin, so I wouldn’t recommend this product to people with dry skin. It can probably be useful for people with oily skin.
My skin feels the same after use. It doesn’t feel refreshed, super soft or anything.
After use
In a few minutes my skin has an oily sheen, which means that it’s overly dry. My pores are as large as they were.
I can’t say anything about if it cleanses my pores, because they are not really clogged in general.
It doesn’t even out my skin tone either. Nevertheless, it hasn’t caused any skin irritation, so I’m glad.
In 5 minutes after use. Oily sheen
Overall thoughts
This mask is very queer and quite mediocre. I don’t have any good impressions after use except for the nice smell of this product and my hilarious green face. I haven’t noticed any difference after use. I think that people with oily skin can actually love it, as this mask is a little bit drying.
I give it 3 stars. It doesn’t deserve more from me _________________________________________________________________________________________
