Hey sweeties!

Summer is here, and I am looking forward to seaside holidays and sunbathing.

But I doubted my skin would thank me for such carelessness, and I wasn’t seeking new fine lines and pigment spots. Therefore I knew I wouldn’t be able to do without a day cream with a high SPF.

The Skin Doctors super moist sunscreen arrived just in time, as it turned out.

General information:

Price: $40

Weight: 50 ml.Promises:

Skin Doctors SupermoistTM spf50 protects your skin from the damaging sun and maximises the results of your Skin Doctors Cosmeceuticals treatment. This light-weight moisturiser provides UVA/UVB SPF 50 protection. It helps prevent premature skin ageing and sunspots. This non greasy, broad spectrum formula is absorbed quickly into your skin, so your make up goes on easily. It will not clog pores.

Skin Doctors SupermoistTMspf50 provides high sun protection, acting as a shield to help protect the skin from sun damage. It has been tested and proven to meet the exacting standards for the harsh Australian environment. It helps prevent premature skin aging and sun spots.

Ingredients:

Ware(Aqua), Octocrylene, Beeswax, Tapioca Starch, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Triethanolamine, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Petrolatum, Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Cetostearyl Alcohol, PEG-15 Cocamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, PEG-40 Stearate, Caprylyl Glycol, Carbomer, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum).

The ingredients are far from natural, but it’s not that scary when it comes to protecting your skin from sun rays, because the latter are much more dangerous.

The sunscreen is silicone-free, which I’m really happy with, since my skin is prone to comedones. They have replaced silicones with beeswax.

I was a bit disappointed with the presence of two mineral oils, but they are almost at the end of the list, which means that their concentration is really low. Also, there is aloe among the ingredients:

In general, there is nothing to feel anxious about. The sunscreen comes in a flip top tube.I prefer this very kind of cream, because you don’t have to scoop the product out and therefore make it oxidize.

Fragrance

A typical fragrance of a cream, not overwhelming and not long-lasting. Wears off quickly.

Consistency

The sunscreen is thick and rich. At first, one may think the formula is way too oily, but the first impression is deceptive.

The sunscreen sinks in quickly and leaves no oiliness behind. The coverage is lightweight, without a white film.

Results

The cream proved itself after two hours under Southern sun, when my skin wasn’t even a little pink!

Despite my worries, the sunscreen hasn’t clogged my pores or provoke new blemishes.

The sunscreen can be used as a makeup base, it works great under makeup. My foundation doesn’t smudge or come off when applied over it.

The sunscreen provides sufficient moisture without oiliness, removes dry spots and prevents pigment spots.

A little bit goes a long way, thanks to the rich formula. But it has to be re-applied after water, so it will depend on your activity.

The sunscreen has stood the test of the blazing sun and seaside, so I can totally recommend it! Five stars are well deserved.
