Hello everybody! I’ll tell you about the Icelandic Relief Eye Cream. I like Skyn Iceland very much, but today I’ll speak only about their eye cream. I have the travel size of it now.
The cream is packed in a small jar with a screw top, there are only 5 ml of the product.
On the back there’s some information about the product:
And here are a few words taken from the official site:
Cutting-edge triple-acting eye cream formulated with a breakthrough technology to combat three major eye issues: dark circles, puffiness and wrinkles.
Icelandic Relief Eye Cream, newly re-formulated with a breakthrough arctic botanical, Saponaria Pumila, is now a powerful triple-threat to eyes' most agonizing issues -- Puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles. Saponaria, a flowering plant which survived the Ice Age by biologically adapting to extreme climates, contains potent stem cells which have been proven to stimulate cell rejuvenation, reduce the depth of wrinkles, firm, depuff and improve elasticity. Now, incorporated into our eye cream, Icelandic Relief is more effective than ever at diminishing the symptoms of chronic stress around the eyes.
The cream wasn’t packed at all.
When you screw the top, you’ll see that the cream is sealed with a piece of soft and thick foil, to fend off germs.
The first time I was using this cream I was surprised by its texture. It reminded me of curd, that’s why it was so difficult to get out of the jar. When I tried to apply it onto my skin, it felt crumbly and was falling down.
This is how it looks. I even thought that the cream was old and started my research online. After spending a few hours research, I visited the official Skyn Iceland site and found that:
The texture is supposed to be a bit spongy.
And it really is. Tactile, this cream feels very soft like whisked egg whites. It was very wise of them to create such texture for the soft under eye skin.
And now, let’s speak about how the cream felt. I’ve already mentioned that the cream is difficult to apply onto my skin. But if to hold it with your finger a little longer, it melts and applies way better.
I use it only overnight, but I presume that it’s fine even as an eye primer. It soaks in really quickly and leaves no oily film.
They claim that this product is water-based, maybe that’s the main secret of the lightweight formula. I can assure you that this cream works wonders with my fine lines caused by dehydrated under eye skin. It does its job well even after the first time.
I don’t believe that this eye cream can cope with dark circles, as the cream can’t do everything, the reasons for them must be inside. As for the puffiness, here yes, the cream does its best to fight it.
This product is very comfortable to wear and I can clearly see the results. I think I’ll buy the full-sized jar when I use up this one.
Price: $ 45 for 14 grams.
