It’s already the second summer since the products of the young American brand Sol de Janeiro have started to blow the minds of the beauty communities. At first, I tried to neglect the hype about it. I couldn’t make out what could be so special about a body cream. And obviously, the price for a tub is $45, what the hell? I usually buy my foundations cheaper.
But still, I was so curious and this spring I ordered this Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream in a travel-friendly tub of 75ml for $20.
Taking the ball before the bound I have to say that I fell for it so much that I also bought their shower gel and body mist. But that’s already another story to tell.
So, let’s look through the product claims and the main characteristics.
A fast-absorbing body cream that helps tighten and smooth the look of skin. Many Brazilian creams have a secret ingredient: guarana, a native Amazonian plant whose fruit contains one of the most potent forms of caffeine on the planet. 🔆 The packaging of the cream is a semi-sphere of yellow-orange color with a massive top cap with the ingredients list and other information on it.
🔆 The consistency of the cream is rather thick. It reminds me of butter. However, the product isn’t still tacky or sticky.
It soaks in very quickly, leaving no oily film behind.
🔆 And the most important thing about it is its aroma. It’s just divine. The maker states 3 main notes in there:
Salted Caramel
PIstachio
Vanilla
I’m not a fan of caramel aroma but here it isn’t too luscious at all. I think that the blend of vanilla and pistachio create such a fruity and fresh fragrance.
It’s so summery, happy and Brazilian carnival-like.
It feels like the aroma cuddles me with its gentle notes and lingers to my skin with a veil.
When I use this Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, I usually don’t wear any perfume.
And now, let’s talk about the product’s performance.
It’s impressive!
🔆 The cream nicely soothes and nurtures my skin. When used regularly, I can feel that my skin is tighter.
Naturally, it won’t take away your cellulite or present you with a “brazilian butt.”
🔆It can be used as a body as well as a facial cream.
Recently, we visited a funfair and I left my SPF at home. I only had this Bum Bum cream in my purse. I used to apply it all over my face, including the eye area. As a result, I didn’t get a sunburn.
However, this cream is never a dupe of the SPF products.
🔆 But it’s a nice dupe of my hand and cuticle creams.
Usually, I don’t welcome body creams in my skincare game and it’s a torture to apply something over my skin after a shower. But since I’ve got this Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, I’ve started to love this healthy habit of my skincare.
And even though the price is hefty for a body cream, once I use these minis up, I’ll definitely purchase the full-sizes.
