Greetings!
I met the St.Ives brand relatively recently. I read a great deal of positive reviews of their products and asked my mother-in-law to present me with one of their items for testing. This is how I actually got the so hyped apricot scrub (but I’ll speak about it a little bit later) and this collagen and elastin moisturizer.
The jar is huge - 10 oz (283g) and it costs less than $10!
The package is simple. The absence of any protective membrane under the top cap made me really suspicious and confused.
What are the product’s promises and components:
About my skin:
35+, my skin is of combination type, oily T-zone and normal cheeks. No rashes or acne. I noticed that small fine lines already started to appear. This is why I need a collagen moisturizer, because moisture is something that we always need.
The product smells divine. For me that adorable smell is a real aromatherapy session before I go to bed. And yes, I use this product strictly overnight because in the morning I use the SPF infused moisturizers.
The texture is super soft.
The product is so easy to apply over my skin. It sinks in super quickly and doesn’t leave any sticky film or residue behind.
My skin looks hydrated, smooth and totally tightness-free. Just relaxing sensations!
What about the fine lines?
Honestly, I haven’t noticed any visual changes. You know, I read somewhere that the collagen molecules are naturally too big to penetrate our skin layers and all the collagen infused products are useless and are only a good marketing ploy.
As for this very moisturizer, I guess it’s true. It’s very unlikely that it’ll visually even out your fine lines or small wrinkles, but I like the way it works as a moisturizer. Elastin works on the surface of my skin creating a thin film which helps to keep all the moisture locked within the skin layers.
Thanks to the big size of the jar, the product will definitely go a long way, even if I start using it for my body.
Do I recommend? Yes, highly recommended!
