Hello people!
Today I want to tell you my opinion about the Carmex Pomegranate lip balm. This product was packed in a carton.
The packaging is standard like any other Carmex lip balm.
Description:
Helps to moisture and relieve dry, cracked lips.
Apply liberally and evenly as often as necessary. Especially useful before and after exposure to sunlight, wind or low temperatures. Recommended before and after lipstick application to preserve and restore moisture. Reapply after eating or swimming. Not for use on children under 3 years of age.
Ingredients:
Those who prefer vegan makeup will probably not like the ingredients. I, in my turn, don’t like it too, but usually natural ingredients don’t work as good as these ones. But I use it only when I really need it. I don’t think that it’s healthy to use this product on a daily basis.
My impressions.
The scent. Maybe it does smell like a pomegranate, but for me it’s more berrylike. It’s very strong and absolutely not natural. It also smells like herbs. On the one hand, the scent is pleasant, but on the other - it’s too strong.
The texture isn’t very thick; the balm’s not hard, not stiff, and not dry. When I apply it onto my lips I can feel its “oily” consistency, but at the same time the balm isn’t fatty.
Straight after the application there is a light cooling effect. You can even feel your lips tingling a bit.
I want to warn, that if your lips are very dry and cracked, it’ll be very unpleasant at some moments to feel the balm on you lips. I think that in such case you’d better use another balm.
The characteristics of the balm didn’t upset me. I like that the product gives this moisturizing, soothing and nourishing effect. After using Carmex products my lips come to their normal condition much faster then after using any other lip balm.
Once I noted that Carmex balms are great, but there are also some better exemplars - Blistex, for example.
Each of them is great in some respects.
The Blistex will better prepare your lips before lipstick (it soothes cracked lips and makes them softer), while the Carmex (I think) is better if you want protection and nourishing. In my opinion it’s better to apply the Carmex at night if you have any peeling on your lips.
By the way, I like the Carmex Pomegranate more than Carmex the Lime Twist, as I think that the Pomegranate has a softer texture and it’s easier to apply. Moreover the Pomegranate version has a long-lasting effect.
My verdict is
5 stars despite not very good ingredients composition, despite the scent (here everything depends on your preferences), despite the fact that I don’t know how it works with real lip problems (much peeling, for example, as I don’t have it).
If you regularly take care of your lips, I think you have good chances to eliminate big problems. So, as I’ve already told - as everyday product I would choose another product with better ingredients. And Carmex is the lip balm in emergency cases.
Thank you for your attention! I hope you’re doing well:)
