Hello, kitties!

I think everybody has already heard of these Konjac sponges! There are so many reviews of them online where they say that it's irreplaceable for washing your face. So, I couldn’t fight my curiosity and bought it too. At first I bought the black one, but presented it to my boyfriend and later for myself I opted for this green one.

Name: KONJAC FACIAL SPONGE WITH GREEN TEA

Price: £8.99

I also wanted to try out the new shape of it. Everybody has these sponges round or oval, but I opted for the heart-shaped.

Let’s find out what’s actually a Konjac sponge:

The Konjac Sponge with green tea extract is an excellent facial cleansing tool for all type of skins. The delicately scented green tea Konjac puff is made by adding green tea extract powder to the Konjac mixture. Green tea has a unique sterilizing effect to facilitates beautiful radiant soft skin by combating inflammation from acne and preventing spots. Use as a daily natural cleansing sponge for face.

The Konjac sponge originally comes from China, it’s made of vegetable fiber. When I found that out, it sounded strange to me, as I used to think that they are made of shell-fish. Then they steep the sponges with different extracts and additives. It can be clay, charcoal or botanical extracts. The sponges differ for skin types:

The Green Sponge is great for Normal to Combination skin

The Black Konjac Sponge gets its colour from bamboo charcoal. This sponge is for you if you’re a teen with oily skin or someone who is prone to spots, blackheads and outbreaks

The Red Sponge is great for Dry & Sensitive skin, but also wonderful for anyone who doesn’t suffer from any particular ailments.

The Original White Konjac Sponge is 100% pure Konjac with no added clays. As Konjac is 100% alkaline, it will help balance the pH of your skin while still gently exfoliating and cleansing.

Honestly, I haven’t noticed any significant difference between the two sponges that I used. I mean this one with green tea, and the first one I bought with charcoal. For me, they are the same by their characteristics.

So, I opened the packaging with the sponge and found it a bit damp. It was damp with an extract. The green sponge didn't smell very good. If the manufacturers think that green tea extract smells like this, then I have nothing to comment upon. For me it smelled like a herb and plastic mix. I washed the sponge with my soap and the smell disappeared.

So, the sponge is of a very beautiful heart-shape. It’s quite big and convenient to hold in your hand.

The sponge is elastic, more elastic than my previous one and its pores are much smaller.

The sponge is tender green. Since it’s green, I hope that there’s at least a little bit of the green tea extract in it.

The sponge can be used alone. Massage your face gently with damp sponge. It’ll gently exfoliate your skin and improve the blood flow in your cells. I don’t like using it alone. I use it together with Korean facial cleansers.

I put a tad of the cleanser onto the sponge.

And squeeze it gently. It looks like a hand expander exercise. So, a few moments later I have a lot of foam.

Now, it’s time to wash my face with this sponge. Remember to spread the foam straight with the massage lines so that the sponge improves the cleansing properties of your facial wash. It works as a gentle exfoliator, as it exfoliates your skin and makes your complexion better.

These are important things you need to know about the Konjac sponges:

  • You need to wash it after each use till it stops foaming.

The sponge must be air-dried after each use. The string here is very handy. But, do not air-dry it in your bathroom to prevent germs outbreak. But, I don’t have any special room to air-dry my sponge, so I just hang it in my bathroom near the brush washing glove.

  • From time to time, don’t forget to damp the sponge with boiling water. It’ll help to prevent germs.
  • The sponge doesn’t live a long life. In three months max it should be replaced.

This one is a great for me in a fight for a beautiful face. My skin is combination, as it’s oily in summer and dry in autumn. I also have a lot of blackheads and enlarged pores. I also suffer an acne outbreak before X days. I can definitely say that this sponge and Korean facial cleansers help me to minimize all my imperfections and blemishes.

I really like to use it, and I want to use it again and again.

I give this Konjac sponge 5 stars out of 5 and highly recommend buying it!

Hey, I want to share my impressions of the Konjac sponge. Price: $5.99 At the store where I bought it, the sponge was in three different colors: white, green and black. I opted for the black one as my skin is acne prone. I also had sponges of different colors that I used a few months ago.

  • Try to withstand and not to try this product out! :)

Yes, yes, I do definitely recommend this sponge. But honestly, why are they so mad about these? Since I ordered this sponge online, I didn’t know its size and was expecting it to be bigger. But no, it looks quite small. But, this size is very convenient to wash my face with.
