Pros: citrus aroma, doesn’t clog skin pores, good list of ingredients, keeps sweating at bay, mini-sized version is travel-friendly, natural ingredients
Cons: doesn’t go a long way

🌿I prefer natural cosmetic products 🌿 I know it may not sound convincing but natural cosmetics works and gives stunning results.

When it comes to deodorants, the process of finding yours may become difficult, so arm yourself with patience and start testing out.

In the past I used to opt for the antiperspirants preferably with the the caption promising 72 hours of feeling fresh. I used to be very stressed especially at work, so I sweated a lot and of course I needed good protection from sweat and odor appearing.

If at that time one would suggest that I use a natural deodorant I’d just laugh and definitely walk away.

Only after 4-5 years of constant use of harmful deodorants, I've finally decided to give a natural deodorant a go and try it out. There were too many contradictory reviews and I had to make up my mind which to pick up myself.

Product description:

Weleda Citrus Deodorant distills freshness, with the zing of lemon and orange essential oils to rebalance body odors so skin can feel refreshed. In a recyclable glass bottle, with a non-aerosol pump spray, this deodorant is free of aluminum salts and contains fine ingredients, that add up to the best for your body and the earth.

Benefits:

Maintains skin’s natural detoxification process. Dermatological tested and skin-kind. Free from antiperspirants including aluminum salts, synthetic preservatives or fragrances, colorants and raw materials derived from mineral oils.

Size:

I have a mini so there are only 30ml but there’s also a bottle of 100ml

PACKAGING:

The product is sold in a glass bottle with a squirted top.

INGREDIENTS:

Alcohol Water (Aqua) Limonene*1 Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil Linalool*1 Geraniol* Citral* Farnesol*

The first thing I usually do when I buy a cosmetic product is read the list of ingredients. My hobby is making naturally infused cosmetics myself at home, so of course I’m very interested in the ingredients. Smile

In the Citrus deodorant by Weleda there’s only alcohol and a bunch of essential oils and that’s all. Well, that means you should be ready that you’ll still keep sweating but without unpleasant odor.

But how does this product kill the unpleasant odor?

Weleda Citrus Deodorant in action:

The glass bottle is ergonomic. The squirter top works well giving out a lot of tiny drops of the product.

You can even hold it upside down, it’ll still work.

The liquid inside is of yellowish color.

The smell is obviously citrus like, similar to the entire collection of Weleda Citrus. It smells pleasantly of lemon with mint, well, lemon peel most likely Smile

2-3 pumps for each armpit is enough for me.

The product doesn’t go a long way, you have to re-apply it during the day.

Half of my bottle was used for about a week. Now I understand why there is a larger version of the product Smile

Effectiveness:

🌿 Sweaty odor. This deodorant keeps the sweaty odor at bay really well.

🌿 Sweating. It doesn’t affect sweating at all. I get the “wettest” when I use this one.

🌿Aroma. After application the deodorant’s fragrance covers the body's own odor. The aroma is felt almost like perfume, for this reason I would not combine it with my perfume. To be honest, I tried once and the mixture turned out to be wild. The aroma of citrus deodorant is more sharp, so beautiful and complicated perfume can be barely heard.

🌿What else can I say about this product?🌿

Looking through the reviews I found an interesting thing almost everybody was to mention: the product stings my armpits after shaving.

I was anxiously waiting for such a reaction but actually nothing like that ever happened with my skin. No stinging pain or suffering! Smile

Since there’s alcohol in the ingredients, I sometimes intentionally use this product to disinfect some minor skin damages or pimples, as this product stings less than a usual iodine or salicylic acid Smile

🌿 When will it be better to use this product? 🌿

I’d use it on holiday with a great pleasure. I like the aroma when this deodorant covers the body’s own odor. It really kills the bacteria that give us that nasty sweating odor. So the citrus sillage is way better. I do believe that after while you applied this deodorant on your skin, the citrus sillage fades away and lets your own body odor blossom making it so individual. In a few words this deodorant keeps all the unpleasant odors at bay making you feel your own pheromones work stimulating your own body odor! I think it’s very interesting to get to know how your body smells! Smile

As for negatives, I can say the following:

🌿 It doesn’t prevent sweating

🌿 I also faced a problem of high consumption of the product

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, you should be ready to face these two factors if you decide to give this deodorant a go.

I’ll assess it with 4 stars. As a consumer, I value when a deodorant goes a long way and astringent properties in it, and the latter can be achieved with the help of extracts from certain plants. For example, the Austrian cosmetic brand with a 90-year history “Speik” uses Sage extract in its deodorants!

🌿 Thanks for your attention and have a good shopping day! 🌿
