I wanted to purchase a good powder brush for a really long time. I wanted it to be not only quality and helpful, but also beautiful. At that moment I saw the Tarte Bamboo Brush and was hooked. When I ordered it, I decided to watch some videos and tutorials with this brush and was dumbfounded by how huge it actually was. However, it is not as big in person.
Price: $34
In the videos it looked gigantic and half of my face or it’s about ‘fear has big eyes’? Does it happen to you too that you have doubts about the purchase after ordering it?
It happened to me too. But I worried in vain.
The size of the brush is not huge yet it’s quite big. It can be used not only for blending out the powder, but also for blush.
The bristles are synthetic and elastic. In fact I thought that the brush would be softer, I mean not so tightly packed and more suitable for applying powder in a thin layer. I thought it was something like a Kabuki brush. But this tool is actually suitable for blending and for applying the powder in a thicker layer.
I’ve been using the Clarins Skin Illusion Powder for a while and the Tarte Bamboo Brush performed really well for applying this product.
However, this brush can do even more. It can apply the powder in a light coat and distribute the bronzer evenly to make the skin look a little bit tanned.
The brush is easy to wash and it dries out as quickly as any other makeup brush. It doesn’t shed while using and washing. It looks like new after use.
Moreover, the brush has no smell to it.
The name Tarte is printed on the golden ferrule of the brush. By the way, the ferrule stays put on the bamboo handle and doesn’t get any scratches. At least for now.
I use this tool at home only, so I don’t know if it gets damaged on the glossy part when you carry it in your purse.
The brush is lightweight and so nice to use, even though it doesn’t look this way.
The Clarins powder comes with a compact and lovely brush in a golden package, but I prefer this Tarte tool for this purpose.
The bamboo handle doesn’t have any stains, although it’s not glossy.
The foundation or other makeup products that still can smear it, are easy to remove.
By the way, let me say something about the foundation and other products that are not really meant for this brush. The tool is relatively thick and can be easily used for blending out the foundation or any contouring product.
It’s not really convenient to work with it in small areas, but it’s alright for bigger parts of the face. It saves time really well, when I’m in a hurry or just lazy
Well, it’s not the primary purpose of this tool surely, but it’s a nice bonus.
To sum up, I’d like to say that I love the tool and it’s one of the most frequently used brushes in my cosmetic bag.
