Hi, beauties!
About a year ago I fell in love with theBalm, and I’m still loving it. Today I’d like to share my impressions of theBalm Appetit Palette, which I adore now.
Does it make sense to talk about theBalm packagings once again? Their boxes are always unusual, eye-catching and very recognizable. Many of them are made of high-quality cardboard that is very solid and doesn’t crumble with time.
Inside there is a little mirror - not the most convenient one, but it’s okay on trips. Between the cap and the eyeshadows themselves there is an additional carton barrier with letters and a heart. That looks cute, in my opinion.
The palette includes 9 hues and, unlike my favorite theBalm Meet Matt(e) Nude, there are both matte and shimmery eyeshadows combined in it.
The shimmery ones are soft and a bit too loose, but the matte hues are, on the contrary, pretty dry and pressed. The shimmery eyeshadows have a rich pigmentation and great color payoff, while the matte ones have an average pigmentation and must be layered, if you want to achieve a bright color.
Now let’s take a close look at each hue:
Bruce Schetta is a delicate peach. It’s a basic and very versatile color.
Mac Encheese is a dusty plum. Great for defining of the lid crease.
Ray Sinbread is a warm light-brown. Can be used to define the lid crease as well as for blending
Tarte R. Tots - is a dusty pink. Preferably, it should be applied with a dampened brush - then it’ll look very bright.
Rocky Road Cream is a cold shimmery taupe. Perfect for quick and lazy smokey eyes.
Chris P. Bacon is a star, no, a STAR of this palette. It’s a unique fire red, with a touch of rust. I’ve found no analogue for it yet.
Hal Apeno-Poppers is champagne with a dash of dirty-grey. It’s half-transparent and can be used as a highlighter.
Artis Chokedip is a satin light-grey
Alfred O’Pasta is a dark grey flecked with tiny silver shimmer. Can be used to darken the outer corner of the eye, lower lid or lash line.
Now let’s take a look at my makeups with theBalm Appetit.
Here I’ve applied: Rocky Road Cream to the lower and upper lid, Hal Apeno-Poppers in the middle of the upper lid as a highlighter. Plus I’ve used the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter and NoUBA Watershield Mascara.
In the next photo I’ve applied: Artis Chokedip to the Inner and outer corners of the eye, Hal Apeno-Poppers in the middle of the upper and lower lid and Alfred O’Pasta to the lower lid + YSL Baby Doll #14 Eyeliner and NoUBA Watershield Mascara
The following colors were used in the next photo: Chris P. Bacon on the upper lid, Activist and Jetsetter from the Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Palette, a violet hue from the Sleek Candy Collection + Lime Crime Highlighter + Estee Lauder Sumptuous Knockout Mascara.
Tarte R. Tots on the upper lid, Ray Sinbread plus a dark brown from Sleek Ultra Mattes V.2. on the outer corner of the eye and lower lid + MUFE AquaXL Eye Pencil, Lime Crime Highlighter and NoUBA Watershield Mascara.
Even though I’m happy with theBalm Appetit Palette, I take a star off because it was hard to work with some hues and for the fact that the palette is not self-sufficient - it lacks a few more colors to be considered versatile.
But I can forgive it for the beautiful Chris P. Bacon Color!
By the way, that’s how my makeup looks with this color:
The price is ca. $33.18. It depends on the store.
Thank you for coming by! Be beautiful!
