Benefit Porefessional Pearl Primer
I’ve got a travel size mini from a beauty box. It’s got 3ml of the primer.
Also, you can buy a deluxe sample of 7.5ml. The full size offers 22ml.
Product says:

It’s the same oil-free, lightweight, silky smooth texture as the original The POREfessional: Pore Primer PLUS a hint of soft pearly pink. Pores and dullness don’t stand a chance!

Outward appearance:
The design is simple and it looks like a regular hand cream. The pink tube has a picture of a girl on it. The cap is screw-on and black. The outer look of the mini and the full size are identical. I find this tube handy to use.
Consistency:
The primer is of average thickness and of pink color with a subtle glow. You won’t need more than a pea-sized drop to cover all your face.
Smell:
It’s pleasant and it doesn’t smell like anything chemical. I associate it with a good and expensive moisturizer.
Impressions of use:
I haven’t tried the first version of this primer but I love this product a lot! My skin is dry and the primer doesn’t show off any dry patches. It mattifies well (even though my skin is dehydrated and doesn’t require any mattifying products. It’s already matte). It doesn’t tug my skin or appears mask-esque. No drying effect and in general, I can’t even say that I feel it on my face.
I can see that my pores are smaller with it. However, I have to tell you about the issues with its application. You see, it creases from time to time and if I still follow it with a foundation, it’ll only make the finish worse.
I can see a little bit of pink glow on my face right after the application but my foundation always covers it up.
The product goes a long way. My mini of 3ml was enough to use 7-8 times and still, there’s something left inside.
In general, I love this product but I can easily get by without it. It’s definitely not a must-have at all.
before/after
It works great as pore eraser.
- it smoothes out my skin tone
- it evens out my skin texture
- my skin is delicately glowing with it
- it erases my pores
- a little bit goes a long way
- it doesn’t provoke any allergic or other reactions on my skin.
As for the drawbacks, I list the following:
1) The primer creases for some reason when I apply it (it doesn’t happen regularly, from time to time)
2) I think that the price is rather hefty for a not-such-an-essential product.
3) One has to be very careful with it and never use it on a daily basis, wash it off thoroughly at the end of the day because it may clog pores.
I can’t think of anyone who might need pore erasing on a daily basis. After all, it’s never good for the skin. However, I have to say that I’ve never experienced anything bad after use of this primer.
Anyway, it’s for a special occasion, not for every day wearing.
The price of the full size is $32. Not cheap! Although, it’ll go a very long way. I think if you need it, you’ll easily get by with a mini, which is also available in stores and costs less.
