Today I review the Bourjois matte lipstick. When I bought it, I didn’t know it was matte. The trend connected with such lipsticks has been kicking around for a long time and I always wanted to try something like Lime Crime or Anastasia Beverly Hills. I knew about the Bourjois launch, but didn’t know that it was exactly what I needed. This winter I bought the Hot Pepper shade. After a while I grabbed two more colors.
So now I have three Bourjois lipsticks:
03 Hot Pepper - vibrant poppy red
06 Pink Pong - fuchsia
17 Cool Brown - brown nude shade

03 Hot Pepper is really hot!
Texture:
The texture of the lipstick is lightweight. It applies easily and doesn’t flow. You have to apply a few coats to get a thicker coverage. When applying, the lippie looks glossy, but in 15 mins it’s perfectly matte. It’s very comfortable to wear, as I don’t feel it on my lips.
Packaging: It’s a plastic tube with a screw cap and an applicator. It applies easily.
Scent: It has a synthetic scent, but it’s not potent or offensive.
Comparison with MAC product.
In the photo you can see that Bourjois is more orange and MAC is more pink.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how to convey the beauty of the lipstick and its texture.

It’s hard to say about the staying power. I guess, it’s alright, but it doesn’t last after eating and drinking and I have to fix my makeup after that.
06 Pink Pong is an amazing vibrant fuchsia. It has a dewy finish just like the previous shade. It gets matte somewhere within 20 mins. The lipstick dries out my lips a teeny bit, but still I feel comfortable wearing it. It doesn’t emphasize the lip lines.
17 Cool Brown is a brown nude shade. I think that the texture of this shade is a little bit worse than the texture of Pink Pong. It’s somewhat drier and thicker, although it dries out quicker. The shade looks different all the time, as it could be pink, brown, orangey or too light.
Overall, it’s a beautiful and delicate nude shade. It’s perfect on a day to day basis.
I recommend Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick. I love all three shades so freaking much! Cool Brown shade is my favorite, because it’s very comfortable to wear every day. In the future I’d like to try the whole range.
All in all, the lipstick is very good. It is available in many divine shades, which provide a matte finish, plus it’s quite long-lasting and easy to apply.
