Lately, my collection has been filled with a lot of different lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip balms. I’ll tell you about the best of them later. I’m on a constant lookout for new matte and nude shades. And this is how I wandered into the Burberry counter.

I don’t have much makeup from them. Honestly, I don’t rave about this minimalistic and calm design at all. I prefer the reserved design in my clothes but makeup, this is where I can fly high. So, for me, one of the most important things about my makeup is its design of the packaging.
I bought this lipstick without swatching it on my lips which I really regret. You see, the swatch of BURBERRY LIQUID LIP VELVET 09 FAWN ROSE looked absolutely different on my hand, rather than it looks now on my lips.

That day, in the store it appeared as a noble nude shade with a slight pink undertone. But on my lips the undertone somehow turned into true pink, reminding me of the cheapest lippies that were popular in my childhood. Barbie lips. Look at them yourselves:

In fact, maybe I was too carried away that day in store and applied too much. Because today, when I packed it with 1.5 layers, it feels like the shade already seems different.

I highly recommend you to swatch the lippie on your lips before purchasing it. It applies smoothly and I can’t be picky about its staying power. It is non-drying, everything as it was promised. After all, Burberry makeup is all about the quality in the first place.
However, I’m still disappointed in this shade. I’ve tried to get used to it but I couldn’t. I think that other brands have other matte and nude lipsticks which are more interesting and better shade-wise. After all, the right shade is always important. This is what we usually expect from a lipstick.
