When I was thinking about purchasing this Burberry #9 Rosewood eyeshadow, I was reading through the reviews, getting ready to get basic and go-to eyeshadows for everyday mono makeup.
Well, maybe my expectations played a low-down trick but I haven’t fallen for it. And later, I even managed to find a cheaper dupe for it, which I reach for more often, even though the hero of my review has much more beautiful packaging.
By the way, the packaging looks like this:
I wasn’t planning to write a comparison review, it just came out itself. So, I’ll also tell you about the cheaper dupe, which is Yves Rocher #34 eyeshadow single.
The Burberry #9 Rosewood eyeshadow doesn’t crumble but it’s rather dry to the touch. The texture is satin to some extent and easy to apply. It sits most willingly on my skin when I apply it with my finger or with a rubber sponge (I mean those ones that you’re very likely to see provided with eyeshadows, Chanel, for instance). The provided applicator here and all those synthetic brushes of mine, which I’ve tried, don’t do the job so smoothly and the color doesn’t look saturated.

Quick and easy before-job-mono makeup:
The product doesn’t crease on my eyes till the very evening (I use Maybelline color tattoo neutral eyeshadow as a primer and I’ve got nothing bad to say about its staying power and quality.
I was a little upset when I saw that the color doesn’t reveal much on my skin. This is why I take off a star. The thing is that Rosewood from Burberry looks almost the same as the Shiseido eyeshadow, which is claimed as “my skin but better”
Coming back to the comparison with the #34 from Yves Rocher, I want to say that it stands out with its quality, yet the color is more vibrant, even though it’s the same color-coded. And it’s surprising but this was the Yves Rocher eyeshadow, which is a massive compliment collector. I haven’t even heard any compliments when I wear the Burberry eyeshadow yet.
But still, the product is fine in quality and there isn’t anything to be picky about with the packaging. So, the only thing that I’ve left to do is to recommend it for everybody, at least to those who love neutral-toned makeup. You won’t be disappointed.
