Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner - review

My bestie presented me with this huge lip liner because I don’t buy lip liners for me myself.

I mean it. I have only 3 of them in my collection: one is from Lime Crime, another from Essence and now this one from Buxom.

💜 Ad rem: I love it. I use it a lot now even though I don’t usually welcome lip liners in my makeup. And that’s great that I got it as a present because I really doubt I could ever purchase it myself. Now my bestie and I have something to discuss!💋💋💋

It’s a wonderful mauve shade, I love it!

The pencil is really huge. Luckily, I’ve got a sharpener for it because the product isn’t retractable and is made of wood.

At one end it’s got a tough synthetic brush. As for me, I usually apply my lipsticks right from sticks and don’t need brushes. But if you do, this one might be rather handy.

At first, the product had a glossy cover like a creamy lipstick but now it looks like a regular matte lip liner.

It’s matte, dry yet still soft.

The longevity is also nice, given that you don’t eat fatty food. It may stay up till 5-6 hours, even longer on the contour of my lips. If I wear it alone, it barely has anything in common with regular matte lipstick longevity.

Sometimes I wear it underneath a lip gloss. But I have to apply the minimum layer of a lip gloss so as to eliminate feathering.

For instance:

I applied the product thicker and it looks okay only for the first 10 minutes.

After that it bleeds and feathers a little… So I either blot it with a tissue or apply thinner. The finish I get:

Here I lined my lips with this liner and then filled in my lips with a lip balm. I blended the two textures together:

In the sunlight. The shade is aka my lips but better.

And this is what it looks like if I fill in my lips with it. As you can see, it tugs my lips a little. It’s better to wear it on top of a lip balm which will affect the wear time of course.

Contours and inner lip with Huda Trophy Wife on top. I blended out the edges so as to mix the colors of the lip liner and the lipstick together. Honestly, I don’t get why they do so? I usually see them wearing a lip liner underneath a matte lipstick but what for? A lip liner will never extend the wear time of a lipstick.

Lime Crime is soft and fatty whereas Essence is close to Buxom texture-wise. But it also costs 5 times less. On the other hand, the Lime Crime lip liner offers less product than Buxom while the price is the same. I love them all and the Buxom is no exception. It doesn’t scratch my lips. It’s rather pigmented and soft.
