Recently I replenished my lip liner collection, so now I can’t wait to tell you about my beautiful discovery!
It’s a Super Smooth Waterproof Long Stay Lip Liner Pencil from Seventeen in the color #05.
I got it a long time ago, and if you don’t have a desire or a chance to buy full-sized matte lipsticks, you should go for a good lip liner instead.
I have a big collection of different ash rose, beige and pink shades of lip liners. But I didn’t have the very classy nude brown-pink shade. That’s why such a color quickly grabbed my attention in a beauty shop. And yeah, they had discounts at that time! It would be a crime to miss that chance.
The nib of the pencil looks too brown, but once I apply it on my lips, it already looks different. Not so brown as it seems.
The product is very pliant texture-wise. And not too soft, I should say. It’s very easy to draw lines with it.
I’ll show you it in action. Here’s my daytime makeup without a lip product on:
At first I draw the edges of my lips:
And only after that I fill in my lips with the pencil. I can do that all the time, because the formula is very unlikely to dry out my lips at all.
The color looks super natural. This is exactly what I need for everyday wear!
The shade doesn’t look cool-toned for sure, yet I can’t say that it’s warm either. For me, it’s just a perfect neutral shade.
My lips don’t look yellow with it on!
The lights open it up differently and it either seems warm- or cool-toned. I adore such results!
By the way, I’m obsessed with ombre lips. I like doing it with this lip pencil.
I usually apply it all over my lips, filling them in. After that I apply a lipstick of a fairer color (beige) and then blend out carefully with my finger, dabbing the pigment.
The lipstick looks amazing over this lip pencil.
The main features of this lip pencil that I’ve found:
- Smooth application
- Non drying formula- But, I always have to add something from me. This lip liner won’t dry out your lips only in case they are already moisturized and nourished. Lips require proper care and there won’t be any magic if your lips are initially dry and chapped when you apply this lip liner over them. In this case all your lip blemishes will be accentuated and look terrible. We should wear a lip balm not only right before a lip liner or lipstick application, but on a daily basis too. It’s just like a face moisturizer. I use my moisturizer every day, and you?
- The staying power is on fleek. The product is able to stay on my lips the entire day or even more. The removing is troublesome.
After a bite, the product fades a little from the inner lip, but it’s isn’t a problem to touch-up. :)- It works as a perfect matte lipstick base.
- the formula is really waterproof.
I got in on sale! A really affordable price for such quality. I wish I grabbed more shades. But I’m sure that I’ll buy more soon.
