Hello pretties!
The high-end Chantecaille brand has been attracting me for a very long time. Their packages, design and limited editions are really like pieces of arts!
I started to get to know the brand with the Chantecaille Lip Stick, which I’m going to make a review of today.
The design of the lipstick is rather basic. It doesn’t scream “I'm worth a fortune”. Everything looks simple, yet elegant. All the Chantecaille products retail with the branded purple boxes with all the actual information about the product on them.
The casing itself is made of plastic, which looks like metal. It’s very lightweight, it doesn’t get scratched, thought it’s easy to stain with fingerprints.
Size - 2g. Expires within 24 months of opening. Made in Italy.
Chantecaille Lip Stick is a collection of classic lipsticks which give thick coverage.
The texture is creamy and of average thickness.
The product is whimsical. It doesn’t like hot weather and starts bleeding, staining everything around.
The pigmentation is good and I can get my natural lip pigment covered on the first go.
Right after the application, the product may show flaking, but, the formula evens itself out within 2-3 minutes after application. The lipstick doesn’t feather, crease or dry out my lips.
But I have to tell you that I don’t actually like the way the product performs. If I wear it solo, the coverage looks uneven and I can see color patches on my lips. And this mishap might be difficult to notice from afar and actually my hubby doesn’t even notice it from a close distance, but, such a price tag of the product makes me long for perfection from the lipstick.
The shade Mirage is a gentle light beige nude color. But, I have to give proper respect to this lipstick and say that for such a color, the product performs more or less good on my lips. However, it’s worth saying that the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips in the color "Kim K.W.” performs a tad worse on me.
The product is applied on my nude lips without a primer/lip liner or a base color.
As for the longevity, I can say it’s average. About 3-5 hours on my lips, but it’ll be fair to notice that the gloss disappears over time. By the way, the lipstick leaves my lips beautifully and delicately.
Here I wear it with the
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in the color
"Naked 2".
This Chantecaille Lip Stick is definitely good, but it didn’t make me rave about it and I didn’t experience any “Wow” effect on my lips. It’s possible to find the same lipstick characteristics-wise but cheaper. However, the first meeting with the brand was pleasant for me and now my desire of testing out something else by the brand has only increased.
Price: $38.00
