After buying the Clarins True Radiance foundation, I knew that I would have to buy a powder as well because my skin is oily and prone to shine. When I was testing the foundation at the store, they set it with the Clarins Ever Matte powder, which is why I decided to buy it.
Shade: Mine is 01 Transparent light. All in all, there are 4 shades in the collection.
The powder was packed with a glossy red box:
The list of ingredients is given on one of the sides:
Weight: 0.3 oz (10g).
Made in Italy.
The compact was also wrapped with a red velvet pouch, which is here to protect the palette from scratches.
The compact is of a golden shiny color:
The bottom provides the minimum of info:
Let’s open the compact and here’s a mirror:
And a sponge:
I’ve been using it for 1.5 years and the Clarins lettering has wiped off only by half. I wash it regularly with a facial gel or a soap.
The sponge lies over a plastic liner, which protects the powder itself.
My shade 01 is said to be fair, even though there’s also the shade 00, which is only for very fair-skinned ones.
Texture and smell:
It’s noteworthy that this is the first, well, maybe the second powder of mine which wasn’t broken or anything so far.
It’s so tightly-pressed that it can live through any traveling.
It feels and looks silky and light. When I apply it onto my skin, I don’t detect it at all. It’s transparent, which is already advantageous for me.
By the way, the product is beautifully scented with some floral notes. ♥
Product promises from the official website:
The compact powder which effectively controls shine for hours, leaving skin fresh and flawless.
Its ultra-fine, comfortable texture evens the complexion with a transparent finish. The "Shine-Stopper" complex combines the benefits of plants and purity of minerals to instantly mattify the complexion, control shine and tighten pores. Impressions of use
At first, I was a little bit disappointed when I found out that this powder doesn’t give high coverage because I wanted it to conceal my acne scarring. I regretted this spontaneous purchase so much. But in vain.
When I found out the aim of the transparent powder, I took it as it was and fell in love. 😍
About my skin: it’s mixed and oily shine-prone. In cold seasons it tends to be dry.
It’s a good product to set my makeup in the morning when I apply it with my kabuki brush. The coverage looks thin and smooth.
If your skin shines with oil, I’d recommend you use blotting papers at first and only after that apply the powder. But even if you apply the powder straight away, nothing bad will ever happen. That sebum will be soaked with the sponge. The most important thing for me is the result, which I like:
In the end my skin is matte and silky.
I also tried applying it over my nude skin. If your skin is dry, then you’ll experience tightening sensations. But I still believe that it can be used when it’s hot (well honestly, it’s better not to use anything over your skin at all when it’s hot outside, only when you have to look your best).
There are some factors which affect the wear time of this product. It’s logical that if I stress a lot or when my skin care product doesn’t suit me, my skin starts shining with oil quicker.
And taking it all into account, I know that I’ve got about 3 hours with this powder when my skin is matte. The maximum is about 6-10 hours, I guess. Here it’s all very individual and also depends on the weather conditions.
It’s always a pleasure to touch-up. I feel so proud taking it out of my purse.
The full price tag is $34 but I think that it can be found on sale.
How does my powder look like now? (Spending).
Soon, it’ll be almost 2 years since I bought it and currently, it looks like this:
Recently, I started to use it lesser, because I know that I’ll use it up soon.
I guess that it’ll be enough to use for a year if you use it every day.
I can recommend this Clarins Ever Matte powder for everybody whose skin is oily and those who adore a matte and satin finish!
Stay beautiful and healthy! ♥
