Pros: applies well, conceals blemishes, doesn't clog pores, doesn't dry out the skin
Cons: defines creases and peeling parts, the price

Hey!Smile

Today I want to tell you about my favorite foundation for the cold season: CLINIQUE Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer. I received it in one of the beauty boxes, and I can say that at first we didn’t see eye to eye. But now, it’s the best one for me when it’s cold outside. In my review, I’ll try to tell you every detail of using this product, to show you the beautiful coverage it gives and define pluses and minuses.

General information about the product.

1.The size - 30 ml

Made in Belgium

Expiry date - 2 years after opening

2. The packaging. The glass bottle is quite heavy. I apply the product with the applicator. There’s a limiter which allows the product not to dry at the bottleneck. The product was also packed in the cardboard box with CLINIQUE lettering.

The unique applicator enables you to apply the foundation in different techniques.

3.Ingredients

4. The Texture. It’s creamy with a specific scent.

5. The color in the box was 6 ivory. There are 8 of them in the line. The manufacturer advises to choose a lighter color, because of the pigment saturation.

It suits all skin types.

6. Product promises:

This lightweight, moisturizing foundation and concealer provides full coverage without clogging pores. This 12-hour wear, breathable formula is ideal for very dry to combination oily skin types, its special polymer formula forms a flexible film that moves with the skin for lasting wear, and it dries slowly for easy blending. Get lasting coverage and give skin a perfected look that stays put, even through sweat and humidity.

7. How to apply

-Using the large backside of the wand, sweep foundation across your forehead, cheeks, and chin. Then use the angled tip of the applicator—which has a slight dip in it to hold more product—to cover down the bridge of the nose and across the jawline.

-Blend well with fingers.

-Finish by using the pointy tip to spot conceal any trouble areas: under the eyes, around the outside of the nose, and on top of blemishes.

-Pat and blend well with fingers.

My impressions and the result.

About me: I’m 29, my skin is dry, with enlarged pores in the T-zone, sometimes I have blemishes and acne. In winter, my skin is dehydrated. I also have under eye-circles and peeling skin.

As I’ve already told you, I received this product in the beauty box. I didn’t want to buy that box because of the high price, but later I just gave up and bought it.

As it was quite long ago, there were no reviews of this product, so I had to find a way as to how to apply it myself.

I found my ideal way, and since then, I’m delighted with the coverage it provides me with.

I was using the product from the end of October till March. The year after that, in December, I bought it again.

Let’s look at the main features of the product.

CLINIQUE Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer is said to be a liquid foundation 2 in 1. The product promises us the thick, but weightless coverage. I don’t agree with it. Thick - yes, but weightless, I’m not so sure.

The color. Mine is 6 ivory. When I opened it for the first time, I thought that it was too yellow. And only later on, I found that it was ideal for me. If applied right, it won’t be yellow at all and adjust to the skin tone. There’s also no shimmer inside.

The coverage. Last year my skin was close to ideal, it wasn’t dehydrated, there wasn’t any peeling and the product applied really well. This year, I have some skin issues because of bad care, so, I can say that the product defined all my blemishes. To solve that problem, I started to add a few drops of cosmetic oil (Nuxe, The Skin House), and I was also moisturizing my skin before the foundation application. I was delighted with the result as the oil makes the foundation less thick and gives it pleasant velvet coverage. It’s not dry, and I don’t feel it on my skin. But still, for me, it isn’t weightless.

The foundation conceals all my skin imperfections, evens the skin tone and gives it the taken care of look. As a concealer, the product is also great. It conceals all my dark circles, but I don’t want to apply too much, as it can define some small wrinkles. The product can also conceal the bruises on the skin.

Not very aesthetic, but the most honest photos.

It also protects from the wind and frost well, I tested myself.

In general, if you find your way as to how to use it, you can get the beautiful, natural, even coverage with the effect of velvet skin.

Application. I want to say that there’s no reason to apply and blend the product with fingertips or applicator.

You won’t be delighted with the result if you do so. The best way is to use the beautyblender, or any other make-up sponge. At first, I apply dots with the applicator and then dab into the skin with the sponge.

It’s very important not to overdo with the product. 4 dots are enough. And don’t forget to blend properly.

It’ll be also great to apply the primer before the foundation.

I also advise to use a setting powder or transparent mineral one after.

Lasting power. It’ll last the whole day. I can’t say that it provides the great matte effect, as I can see the oily shine in the T-zone by the end of the day.

Who will it suit to? To the girls with visible blemishes on the face. For those who look for not only the beautiful coverage, but also a good protection for winter season. To the girls who want to improve their face color, CC and BB creams can’t help any more.

What season is it best for? Definitely winter. In summer, I don’t recommend using it. In winter the thick coverage protects my skin from the wind and frost and my skin feels comfortable. But in summer, such thick products feel like a mask. In spring I put it aside into the carton box in a dark place.

In general, I’m delighted with the product. It’s long lasting, thick, and can be used as a concealer, very economical and gives beautiful coverage.

I recommend the CLINIQUE Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer. If you find the way how to use it properly, you’ll get the decent coverage.

Thanks to all of those who were able to read my review till the end:) Unexpectedly, it came out very long. I hope that it was useful for you:)
