I guess everybody has already heard of the American brand ColourPop. Wide range of colors, beautiful eyeshadows and affordable price - this is all I can say about this brand. And now I want to share my thoughts on the limited edition Colour Pop Dusk Till Dawn Shadow Kit.
The eyeshadows were packed into the brand’s box that really looks like a book. It’s very beautiful and I don’t want to throw it away. The kit is made of good quality and is in a thick carton. The lettering is good and doesn’t fade.
Country of manufacturing - USA
Size of each shade - 2.1g
Inside the kit you’ll find 6 eyeshadow round pans. But unlike the general collection eyeshadows which have white packaging, these ones are packed into a beautiful mint-colored packagings.
The Dusk Till Dawn Kit includes the following eyeshadows: New Magic, Goodish, Stargirl, Half Light, Babykins, and Slay Bells.
The ColourPop eyeshadows are very popular and known for their unusual consistency - they are powders yet creamy at the same time. They are hybrids between these two textures. If you press them with your finger, they’ll dent inside. Moreover, they are very fragile and usually break down while transporting.
All the products from the kit are shimmery, though in the permanent collection there are mattes as well. The products have average pigmentation (I’d call them shimmer toppers) and the glitter falls out while application, though it doesn’t fall out while wear. It’s better to apply these with fingertips or use synthetic brushes, as they allow to layer the product without stains.
And now let’s look at each color separately.
New Magic is a tender pearl-blue shimmer transparent-based color. You can use it in your makeup alone, as well as tap over some other eyeshadows.
Goodish - soft lavender pink with colorful shimmer. This one is gorgeous! It has a more obvious base color in comparison with the first product though I still can’t say that it’s well pigmented.Stargirl
- pale copper color with pink undertone and sparkling silver shimmer. It’s more “solo to use” color though it can also be used a topper.Half Light
- duochrome purple-plump based color with an abundance of golden and green shimmer. It’s a beautiful color but it isn’t well pigmented and I guess it’ll be better to use over a base as a topper.
Unfortunately this shade cracked while transporting but all the ColourPop textures are easy to press with fingers.Babykins
- is a deep plum shimmer infused color with crimson undertones. It has a thicker base color which is why it’ll be nice if worn alone.Slay Bells
- warm toned brown color with red and silver slight sparkle. This shade as well as the previous one will be great if worn solo.
In the sunlight all the eyeshadows sparkle beautifully.
All the colors “in action” and swatchedNew Magic, Goodish, Stargirl.Half Light, Babykins, Slay Bells.
And now let’s have a look at the makeups I came up with using these eyeshadows.
The Stargirl over my mobile lid, the wing is made with a vinous color from the ColourPop Element of Surprise eyeshadow palette.
Slay Bells on my mobile lid and some other eyeshadows from the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette in the crease and lower lids.
Babykins is on my mobile lid, New Magic to the inner corners and the center of mobile lid accompanied with the eyeshadows from the Lime Crime Venus I eyeshadow palette on my lower eyelids.
Goodish all over the mobile lid
Half Light over the eyeshadows by Kiko Milano and some other creamy eyeshadows to my lower lids also by Kiko Milano.
I’m in love with the ColourPop eyeshadows and I really like the Dusk Till Dawn Shadow Kit too. The textures are easy to work with and if you know their peculiarities, you’ll be able to apply them beautifully. Also they are so affordable.
