Hi my dear readers!

I love ColourPop products. As a rule I get really quality products for a drugstore price.

When I was on the hunt for a perfect budget-friendly concealer, I couldn’t help but purchase a concealer from this brand. It is the No Filter Concealer.

I have a fair skin tone, so I pick up the lightest shades only. However, after looking at the swatches in the Internet, I worried that the lightest shade Fair 5 would look yellowish on me. Therefore I purchased 2 tones, i.e. Fair 5 and Fair Neutral 10. Thank God the price is affordable.

These concealers came to me in a paper packages, but I threw them away, because I wasn’t going to write a review about them.

This is how the tube looks. It’s noteworthy that the manufacturer improved the quality of their packages.

I’ve been using this tube on the go for about 4 months, so it was always in my makeup bag, but all the lettering is still there. I had a liquid matte lipstick of this brand and the writing came off in a week.

The concealer has a very convenient flat paddle shaped applicator sponge.

I have very light skin with capillaries and bluish under eye area which has to be concealed. Also, my skin is no longer young and fresh. I’m 40 y.o. now and fine wrinkles started appearing around my eyes.

My requirements for a concealer:

  1. Good coverage and a light shade

  2. It shouldn’t dry out my under eye area

  3. It shouldn’t emphasize the wrinkles and fine lines I have. Also, it shouldn’t settle into them.

I loved the No Filter Concealer, but I can’t call it perfect because of a few peculiarities.

The first thing I want to talk about is the shades.

When I first saw the shades and tested them on my hands, I was so disappointed. It seemed that neither of them matched my skin tone. However, I was wrong.

The shade No.5 did really turn out to be yellowish. The other shade seemed too dark for me at first glance. But these shades blend out very well and look surprisingly well on my skin. The shade 5 Fair has a yellow undertone.

And the shade 10 Fair Neutral has a pinkish-gray undertone.

Shade: 10 Fair Neutral

Here are both shades together. Left: 5 Fair right: 10 Fair Neutral.

These concealers oxidize very noticeably after application. The hue No. 5 gets yellow and No. 10 pink literally within a few seconds.

I’ve tried to show you the difference between the shades right after application and after a while. I’m afraid that it’s not very clear in the picture, because when I was trying to take these photos, the colors were oxidizing already. Nevertheless, you can actually see it here.

The product is well pigmented and doesn’t dry out my skin. Also, it’s very nice and easy to blend out. Don’t worry about overdoing it, because you can blend it out very thinly if required. It neither settles into my wrinkles nor emphasizes them.

Here is my bare face with bluish under eye area.

I apply concealer No. 10 under my eyes and to my upper eyelid, because I use it as an eyeshadow base.

Results.

The product can be layered, as it blends out and applies effortlessly.

Here is the result after a few hours after application.

Everything is alright. It doesn’t dry out my skin. It conceals imperfections and doesn’t emphasize my wrinkles, but it settles down and requires a setting powder on. I set it with a translucent loose powder.

If you don’t set it with a powder, the concealer bleeds and creases into fine lines in a few hours. The funny thing is that this concealer doesn’t really settle into my fine lines, but makes them look somewhat patchy.

The product wears all day really well, when I set it with a powder. It comes off from my nose in about 5 hours, but it’s OK with me, because I have combination skin there, which gets oily very quickly.

The pros:

  1. blends out very well

  2. disguises bluish area under my eyes well

  3. doesn’t dry out my skin

  4. doesn’t emphasize my wrinkles

  5. nice price/quality ratio

The cons:

  1. the shades oxidize on my skin

  2. require setting with a powder

I’ve been using the shade No. 10 for 4 months now and there is hardly anything left in the tube. I love this concealer and would definitely repurchase it when it is over.

Thanks for reading!
