The school year hasn’t started yet, and I’m fully ready to wear fall shades. Especially when they’re packed with this kit that taught me a lot.

When I first picked it up, I was stunned with its quality. Thick paper, bright printing, let alone the beautiful view of how it looks on my shelf. The surface is matte but many yellow features and the logo are glossy.

Refill weight: 2.1g

The super shock eyeshadows are placed in special compartments where they sit well and won’t pop open.

The jar of each shade is white and classy. The color selection is throughout, so you can even miss out on the use of other eyeshadow palettes.

I’m so pleased that the formula is enriched with mango seed butter and cucumber fruit extract. No talc. However, it still has some silicones there but I’m rather indifferent to them.

Ingredients:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Dimethicone, Boron Nitride, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Isododecane, Cyclohexasiloxane, C30-45 Alkyl Cetearyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/Vinyltrimethylsiloxysilicate Crosspolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Tin Oxide, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Propylene Carbonate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Red 40 Lake (CI 16035), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).

Before I bought this kit, I couldn’t understand why they praise the formula so much. And once I tried them, I fell for the shades. They appear much more voluminous and lively. Moreover, each shade has its own feature that distinguishes them from the powder textures.

Finish: the brand offers 4 finishes. My kit has 3 of them. Many people recommend the Ultra-Glitter formula a lot and I agree with them. I was also surprised to see the Ultra-Metallic finish.

Shades:

1. Pledge Class (ultra-glitter)- This is a very unusual shade, even though it doesn’t appear so at first.

It works as a topper well because of the sheer color base. However, it’s also awesome if used alone. The undertone is complicated. Sometimes it’s more peachy, sometimes more sandy-brown. It has an abundance of different in size shimmer which creates that mesmerizing depth. It’s noteworthy, the shimmer may shift to green under some angles.

2. Like a Shot (ultra-metallic)- This is my favorite champagne shade. It’s very beautiful and sandy in color but it shifts to pink. The sun and lamp lights reveal its dazzling shimmer.

3. Here We Go Again (ultra-metallic) is a juicy yellow gold. A very metallic and very sparkling shade that creates an unusual dewy finish on my eyes.

4. Let Me Pass (ultra-glitter) is a yummy burnt orange and sometimes more terracotta shade. Aside from the colorful base, it also includes a great deal of glitter which is chunkier here and I can even feel it by the touch. The finish is truly uncommon and even unique.

5. All In (ultra-metallic) is a dark aubergine-burgundy shade. Even though it’s the third ultra-metallic color in the kit, it still doesn’t look like the other two. It doesn’t have so much shimmer but it’s packed more with the color base.

The shimmer is rare, lilac and silver. In fact, it also appears great, as the other hues.

6. Honor Roll (satin)- Well, I don’t actually agree that it’s satin. The color base is dark terracotta and it’s totally matte. It’s the driest shade out of all. However, it has some golden flecks which are rather obvious.

All the shades together:

Wear time: the color payoff and shimmer finish stay all day. Moreover, these shades are troublesome to wash off with a soap which makes me think they’re waterproof.

Soft focus and bright sun show their unique finishes:

Application: These are to be applied with your fingers best of all. A brush won’t apply them well, especially when you want to see all those complicated shifts and plays of colors. They are nice to blend out as well as mix together. Sometimes they can travel under my brow bones, for instance, or fall out under my eyes if I apply too much.

Swatches- one touch and touch with a flat fluffy brush:

Even though the shades are vibrant, I still don’t want to create complicated looks with them.

I guess that’s because they don’t require anything else and appear dope alone.

So, my makeups with them will be very basic:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

7.

If you’re like me and you haven’t ever tried the super shock formula before or you love playing with your makeup, this kit will be an excellent choice. These small chubby babes can easily replace your powder eyeshadows. They offer more hydrating formula, besides they have a much more interesting finish and the design. However, if you’re more practical, you’ll have to mind the following:

First of all, you’ll have to pick up the products with your fingers. That’s not-hygienic.

Secondly, the refill jars are flimsy and the products may break down during transporting or use. But, they’re also pretty easy to press back.

The third is the cream formula which may potentially dry down in a couple of years.

The fourth aspect is the kit. Of course, it’s beautiful and I rave about it but it isn’t travel-friendly, as well as the jars themselves.

So, considering all that, the most reasonable would be to have one basic and neutral eyeshadow palette of regular powder eyeshadow and buy some interesting, accenting shades of this unique formula. But that doesn’t come to me. =)

Overall

The good:

+ interesting shades, multi-chrome shifts, and great color selection

+ good quality and beautiful design

+ hydrating, talc- and paraben-free formula

+ the brand doesn’t test on animals

+ waterproof pigments

The bad: (for me, these are more like features)

- some shades have a chunky shimmer that falls out (I can easily wipe them off with a big brush).

- the products are fragile. They can break or dry down within a couple of years.

- they aren’t compact. The kit devours too much room.

- a non-hygienic use
