Instagram is full of the Dose of Colors Matte Liquid lipsticks. Beauty bloggers praise these lipsticks so much that I also couldn’t resist and ordered a lipstick by this brand for me as well. There are a lot of fakes nowadays of the Dose of Colors brand which are actually way cheaper, but still I wanted to try out the original product.

Packaging
The American branded product retails in a cardboard box. The design is simple and pleasant to look at. On the packaging there isn’t an abundance of information. It’s short - only the list of ingredients and some info about the manufacturer.

The tube with the lipstick is made of a thick plastic but it looks frosted glass. The name of the brand is printed here in white, and touching the tube you can clearly feel that the lettering is a tad voluminous.
In my beauty bag the lipstick is very easy to find and I can say that it hasn’t scratched or anything.

On the bottom of the tube you’ll find a sticker with the shade name of the lipstick. Each shade has its number as well as a name. My product is called Stone.

Inside the tube you will find a good stopper which does its job nicely and doesn’t allow an unwanted amount of formula to sit on the applicator.

The applicator is soft and doe-foot, which allows me to outline my lips beautifully even without a lip pencil.

Texture and scent
The Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick has a creamy texture. The consistency is smooth and not at all thick. It applies on my lips with an even coat and there aren’t any clumps or patchy spots.
The products takes time to dry down (I guess about 3 minutes), so there’s plenty of time for you to correct application issues, if there are any. After drying down, the product sets and feels as though my second skin on the lips, which means that I don’t feel it present at all. The finish is matte, though it still looks lively and not at all dead.
The scent of the lipstick is pleasant and a tad confectionary, I can feel it only during application and then it fades away very fast.
Shade
The Stone shade is an ash rose color with a true cool undertone. In different lights it looks different on my lips and sometimes it neons into a mauve color. This shade is absolutely wearable and I can easily fit it into my daily makeup routine. The pigmentation is superb and on the first go the product covers up my natural lip pigment.

This is how differently the lipstick looks on my lips in different lights:
1- this picture was taken inside with a flash
2- inside by the window
3- outside when it was sunny. The third picture shows the maximum of the true color as it is.
My makeup
The Dose of Colors lipstick is perfect in terms of application. I don’t even have to use a lip pencil to outline my lips beforehand. The applicator works fine here. The lipstick doesn’t bleed and gives beautiful coverage on the first go. You can also apply it thicker if you want to make your lips look pouty. In all the photos you can see my lipsticks applied with one coat.

After the product application, it feels as though I applied some creamy fluid over my lips. It dries down within 3-5 minutes and I don’t feel the coverage on my lips at all. The finish is absolutely matte and I’d even say that it’s velvety. It’s undoubtedly true that the Dose of Colors lipstick can accentuate all your lip blemishes. This is why I always try to exfoliate my lips before its application. I also usually apply some lip balm before that. When I see that my lip balm has soaked in fully, I start to apply this lipstick.

The Dose of Colors lipstick performs brilliant on my lips. It doesn’t crease or gather with a white film inside the mouth. It doesn’t stain anything and even my teeth. I can feel free to smile, laugh, speak, and there’s no discomforting feeling on my lips. The product doesn’t dry out my lips. Wearing this, I can even forget that I have my lips coated with the lipstick. I’ve never had such a comfortable liquid matte lipstick. It’s a great go-to lippie for everyday wear for me, not only to make a selfie for Instagram, you know.

The wear time is also fabulous. I used to wear it for 5 hours maximum and I can say that even by the end of that time it still looked good and the coverage was thick and beautiful as though just applied. You’ll have to reapply it if you drank or ate some hot drink or meal. By the way, I don’t wash the product off completely after a meal, I just reapply it in the places where I need it to. Within 2 minutes the coverage will look the same as before I had a meal.
There are no issues with this lipstick in terms of removing for me, as I use a good-quality makeup remover. I also can use a micellar water or a cleansing oil. And of course any dual-phase makeup remover will wash it off well.

Pros:
There are no cons about this product for me.
I highly recommend the Dose of colors Matte Liquid Lipstick. Good quality is accompanied with a true matte finish and beautiful wear time. The product performs and feels fine while wearing which is also an advantage. The Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick is just a sample of a perfect matte lipstick as it is. My rate is 5 stars and a high recommendation, of course if you feel fine with the price. The lipstick isn’t cheap, though the quality is fantastic.
