I’m so much in love with unusual shades, but most of them are of bad quality, unfortunately. Today I’m going to tell you about such a case.
So, Colourpop is famous for reasonable prices and its eye shadows first of all. However, this brand has also got quite good contouring sticks, matte lipsticks and lip pencils. But it’s more complicated with liquid lippies though.
The packaging is cheap and simple but it’s not a big deal for such a low price. The applicator is convenient enough, but the stopper isn’t that good, as too much of the product comes out. It’s almost impossible to apply a thin coat on the lips.
Of all the beautiful shades in the range, I’ve chosen dusty greige #trap.
Many people say that this shade is a dupe of a famous LimeCrime lipstick. I don’t have LimeCrime, so I can’t compare it, but swatches on the Internet are definitely alike.
The texture is extremely thick, it covers everything! It’s easy to apply on the smooth and moisturized lips. It dries within seconds and seems to have set like concrete cement. The lips feel uncomfortable under such a coat, and one would like to wash it off as soon as possible.
By the way, it’s not so easy to do this, ‘cause you’ll need a two-phase makeup remover or hydrophilic oil.
Since this lipstick dries my lips so much, I always feel like moisturizing them with a lip balm:
The contour effect appears then, though I didn’t use any lip liners.
If you apply a thick coat of the liquid Colourpop lipstick, the lips look the following way in 15 min:
Creepy, huh?
The staying power is great, but the coverage makes me look scary! But it’s possible to find a way out even with such a lipstick. You can apply it on the moisturized lips with a brush. In such a case the coverage isn’t so thick and the texture spreads out evenly.
I give 2 stars to this #Trap shade. Even though this shade is gorgeous and fashionable, the quality is far from perfect. But I’m going to give 3 stars to the Colourpop liquid lipstick in general, as I know the case with the other shades of the family. If you want to try this range, you should choose the shades with red pigment in them because they’re much better!
