Today I’d like to tell you about the awesome E.L.F. High Definition Powder Sheer, which I’ve been using for a really long time. The product is versatile and good all year round. This is the reason I love it so much. You shouldn’t buy anything else, just pick up this powder and it would definitely work! It’s as good as any high-end product, but the price tag is fantastic!
In my book the packaging is just gorgeous. It has no frills and looks sleek and simple. Yep, it’s a bit dusty, but it’s not really a deal breaker. As far as you can see in the photo, it’s the second pot I use. I’ve used up the first one and opened the second one already. With this product, a little goes a long way, so I use it for half a year at least. However, the manufacturer recommends to keep it open for no more.
Why is the powder so useful for me?
The thing is that I have dry skin. In the summer it’s more normal than dry, but the T-zone gets a little bit oily. My skin is utterly dry during all the other seasons. Skin care products make it easier and help a teeny bit, but this is still my everyday issue. So powder is not good for dry skin, I know it from my own experience, but I can’t do without a powder anyway. My skin doesn’t feel tightening with my favorite E.L.F. product, it feels great, when you don’t overdo it surely. On a positive note, the product doesn’t contain any talc!
It performs exactly how I need it to perform given that my needs differ from season to season. Sometimes I want my face to gently glow or vice versa- be matte the whole day.
Right off the bat, I don’t use foundations, but I know how amazingly beautiful the powder looks along with a foundation. In my makeup bag you can find BB creams only.
In general, they all are moisturizing, shine-enhancing and look dewy against my skin. I hope, you see it clearly in the photo.
Without powder. Dewy effect with BB cream
Visually I love this dewy effect, but I don’t always want my face to feel dewy. This is the very case when I use my powder. You can either slightly apply it or make your face matte, but it won’t look like a mask, as it gets transparent in a few minutes.
I’ve mattified my face completely and that’s how it looks in the picture:
With powder
The powder sets creamy formulas great, which is the main purpose of translucent powders by the way. It absorbs moisture and leaves a sheer pigment.
It could be used differently. For instance:
Every girl has her favorite creamy lipstick, but sometimes you just want it to be matte and stay longer. Use the powder for the purpose. Easy!
The main thing is to make it carefully, otherwise the texture would look patchy. Unfortunately, I was too hasty while taking the picture. You should dab the lipstick with a tissue first and apply the powder next.
As a result you have a matte lippie that stays for a very long period of time and hardly smears. Isn’t that a dream of every girl?
The powder is silky to the touch.
Moreover, it makes my skin startlingly soft, smooth and silky, so that I want to touch it over and over again. In the shot below I’ve tried to show you how pleasant the powder is! It’s just for fun
By the way, the product comes with a pretty quality puff. However, my cat decided that it’s an awesome toy for him. I wasn’t really sad about it, because a specific brush is more convenient for me, as I can layer the powder and control the coverage with its help.
Overall summary.
I would recommend this powder to every girl. Whatever skin type you have, it will most likely suit you. It would probably be not so long-lasting against very oily skin, though. The product is well worth a try anyway.
