Hello makeup junkies! Today I want to share my thoughts on a rather questionable product for me: the CC Cream from Erborian. I bought a travel-size of it and still sigh with relief each time when I thank God that I hadn't splurged on the full-sized pack of the product.
*As far as I know, it comes with two shades - universelle and clair (for the fair skin tones). I have it in the universale shade with an orange undertone.
General impressions
Before buying this product, I watched through a lot of reviews on YouTube as well as studied the opinions about it. They were all too controversial but still, I dared to buy it for me. I wanted it to smooth out my complexion and be comfortable while wearing. In fact, I wanted it to become my go-to foundation for everyday makeup. But something clearly went wrong but first things first.
Packaging
The packaging of the CC cream is the finest (which is obvious given the price). It comes packed with a small and cute tube of matte and silver color. It has a really handy and thin nozzle which dispenses the right amount of the formula. All the lettering and prints on the tube are good quality and they won’t fade away before I use up the product. And here we’re done with the positive sides about this product.
Texture and quality
The product is actually a rather thick and white substance that is infused with a great deal of micro-beads. I guess they are filled with the pigments which reveal their color on the skin once you start to blend it out. In terms of the texture, it looks like a nourishing cream because it’s thick and a little bit greasy.
Peculiarities with application
As far as I know, this product is to be applied with your fingers. Because that's the only way you can activate the pigment for color adjusting from white into your skin tone.
A damp sponge is no way an option here. It won’t activate the pigment and you’ll end up looking as pale as a geisha in complexion. I guess maybe a foundation brush will also work good but I don’t have one so I can only presume here.
Application
Let’s pass over to the most interesting part. Honestly, when I first applied this product over my skin, it felt as though I saw a tanned carrot in the mirror!
I decided that the fault was in me and did something wrong. I used to think that I applied the product over my skin which was red because of my preliminary applied skin care products and that caused the wrong color adjusting.
But the next attempts didn’t lead to anything better and I found out that the fault wasn’t in me at all.
If I apply it with my finger, the color of my face and neck looks dramatically different.
I also tried to apply it with a damp sponge and the cream didn’t activate and looked dead pale over me.
None of the techniques work for my skin tone.
I also tried to activate the pigment over my skin where I pat it with a damp sponge. In fact, the pigment was activated but…
Bottom line
Dear girls, if you’re not ready to splurge, then I call for rationality - think it over and over and over again if you’re ready to waste so much for this mess on your face.
As far as I can judge from other reviews and opinions, the other two shades - clair and universelle can be too orange-toned which may be fatal for some of you.
This product costs a lot, even the travel-size costs a fortune and it would be so hurtful if you face the same problems as I did.
In my case, this CC cream is a total waste! I can’t even test it out properly because I can’t leave my place with my face looking carrot-toned!
In a word, I never recommend this cream to anyone. But maybe you can still get lucky and tame it somehow.
