Hello everybody!
I’ve been using this corrector for quite a while already (about 4 months) and my opinion of it is solid now.
Honestly, I can’t decide whether it deserves 3 or 4 stars. And whether I can recommend it for purchasing or I can’t.
I’ll just tell you all the good and bad things about it and then you’ll make your own decision, okay?
Product states:
This luminous, long-wear BB brightens, perfects and corrects. Lightweight, moisture-fresh. Long-wear formula—8 hours.
Photo Optic™ Technology brightens shadows, helps erase the look of fatigue, highlights facial features. Color true.
Minimizes imperfections including blemishes, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles. Non-settling.
Characteristics:
1. Coverage. It’s medium. Be ready that it won’t conceal very dark circles. However, it didn’t even cope with the dark pigmentation in my inner corners.
But! It’s enough as an everyday option. Concealers which are heavier texture-wise usually dry out gentle under eye skin and can look like a mask.
2. Highlighting. When choosing this product, I already knew that it’s highlighting, But I didn’t have a thought that those chunky shimmer bits would be responsible for that.
This is why I can’t apply it to the all parts of my face, which I want to make more glowing.
It’s important to say that the longer the product is present on my skin, the more visible those bits become.
However, they aren’t so outstanding, you know and I can detect them only under direct sunbeams. It’s okay for me for everyday makeup. But still, if I take pictures, I can turn up with radiant under eyes there. And by the end of the day, it looks like my eyeshadow has fallen out.
My camera doesn’t show all the glow, but in real life, I look like a Christmas tree.
3. Moisture?
No, this product doesn’t bring any moisture. Even the list of ingredients doesn’t show anything hydrating there. The formula just doesn’t dry out my skin, so if your under eye skin is hydrated, it’ll be the same as it is. If it is not, then don’t expect any miracle.
4. Oxidation:
And here I put a huge minus. The product changes in color when I apply it. And it doesn’t adjust to my skin color. It just turns orange. Even though it’s still possible to blend it out into my foundation. But I wanted it to be more highlighting.
In the picture you can see the color changes. On the right the swatch is fresh.
5. Staying power
Good here. It looks alright by the end of the day (if only there weren’t all those shimmer bits!). It creases to a normal extent.
6. Scent:
A hit here, because the product isn’t fragranced.
Where to apply:
Unlike many other concealers and correctors, I advise you to apply this one only over your under eye skin (due to the shimmer). It will look odd if you apply it to the bridge of the nose or forehead or any other face part.
Applicator:
It is convenient for the application of the product, but it’s awful for blending.
How to apply:
Apply the product on your under eye area with patting motions and blend it out with your fingers. Don’t swipe it here and there. Otherwise, there’ll be no coverage at all.
You can also use a sponge or a brush for blending.
Shade:
Mine is 1С – Light
Price:
$32
Size:
2.2ml
In a nutshell:
To tell you the truth, for the price it costs, I don’t want to forgive all the downsides that it has, like oxidation and chunky shimmer.
Of course, it’s good that this corrector neither dries my skin out and nor creases but a concealer for $3 does the same job for me. And I like it even more than this from Estee Lauder.
Though I have to admit that I like this golden packaging. It looks so luxurious in my makeup pouch.
Thanks for your attention!
