I bought this product because it looked just flawless over my best friend’s skin. Her skin is oily with enlarged pores and once she applied this Double Wear Light from Estee Lauder, it started to look like porcelain.
Being on a constant lookout for my ideal foundation, I looked at her and decided to buy one for me as well.
GENERAL INFO:
Made in Belgium
Price: $42.00
Size: 1.0 oz (30ml).
PRODUCT SAYS: Double Wear Light is matte reimagined. Softly diffused, always selfie ready. 24-hour, non-stop wear.
Lifeproof formula is workout-, sweat-, humidity-, weather- and water-resistant.
Blurs and reduces the look of pores and imperfections for a photo-ready finish. Won’t clog pores.
Lightweight and non-drying, it is infused with concentrated Hyaluronic Acid to help skin feel comfortable, as it helps to control oil.
Keeps skin fresh, comfortable and shine-free.
Light-to-medium coverage builds invisibly and looks natural. Stays color true.
Oil-free. Available in Cool, Neutral and Warm undertones.
The foundation comes packed with a rather handy soft tube and comes out through a narrow nozzle. Nothing to be picky about, I’m delighted.
MY SKIN:
Type: mixed, with an oily T-zone and sometimes there are dry patches, especially when it’s cold, especially on the sides of my nose.
Tone: fair, a little bit yellow
Other peculiarities: my skin tone isn’t smooth, I have enlarged pores and I’m prone to pores clogging and occasional zits appearing.
SHADE AND TEXTURE:My shade is called 2.0 Intensity. It’s the second shade from the color palette. It’s warm-toned medium beige shade with a little yellow pigment.
The texture is thick and covering. You have to work quickly to apply it (I usually do it with my fingers), otherwise, I just won’t have time to blend it out.
ON MY SKIN:I use my moisturizer for combo and oily skin as a primer.
You can see that it covered my freckles and some reddening. In general, the product smoothed out my complexion and accentuated flaking, though. Although the shade is adjusting, it still doesn't appear yellow.
WHAT I LIKED AND DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT THIS FOUNDATION:
- I don’t think that it does its job well. I mean skin tone evening out.
+ The finish is matte and powdery. After this product application, my skin already looks as though set with a powder, so I don’t have to use it anymore.
+ The product stays on my skin throughout the day, it doesn’t budge and never changes its color (!!!). I like those mattifying properties of it. I have to blot my skin within 5 hours (it all depends on the temperature, of course, but even when it was boiling hot, the product stayed on very well).
The Double Wear Light predecessor, I mean Lingerie de Peau from Guerlain was much weaker in this term. Besides, it was so drying for my skin. I couldn’t even use the tube up.
+ It doesn’t stain my clothes.
- At the same time, the formula settles into my pores and accentuates flaking on my nose, especially when it’s cold.
+ The product offers medium coverage. If your skin is problematic at some places, then you’ll have to use other concealing products for better coverage. I’m delighted with the coverage it shows.
+ The foundation feels comfortable on my skin and it doesn’t look like a mask on. The formula is alcohol-free, which I appreciate so much.
+ No pore clogging or any woes appearing.
- SPF isn’t high here, only 10. In the summer, I’d opt for a better sunblock, because my skin is prone to pigmentation.

Overall
In the end, I was a little bit upset with the results. It felt like they cheated me somehow because the price is pretty hefty. Moreover, I bought it to use as my permanent foundation and in the end, I had to buy another one.
Will I ever repurchase? Definitely not.
