Hey!
In my review I want to draw your attention to the Korean product that is so praised on YouTube- ETUDE HOUSE Tint My Brows Gel. I was so curious to try it out that travelling around Korea while on holiday, I bought myself this product and of course, now I’m eager to tell you about my impressions.
What’s there so special about this tint?
You apply it on your eyebrows like a thick gel and then remove it in a couple of hours minimum. The effect is like dying your eyebrows: not only will your hairs be colored but also the skin underneath. They say that this process will help you to eliminate filling in your brows at least for a week. This is what is written on the box, and even though I don’t speak Korean, I understand it
There are three colors:
Brown
Light brown
Grey Brown
I bought it in the Grey Brown color.
Outer look:
A simple card box with all the necessary information on it: advantages, how to use, ingredients, tips, etc.
Inside the box there’s a small tube of grey brown color, with resembles mascara.
The brush is simply shaped and I find it rather convenient to use. The gel itself looks almost black, it’s thick and goopy in consistency.
How to use:
- After trimming the eyebrows without applying skincare product or makeup, apply a liberal amount according to the desired shape of the eyebrow.
- Apply a liberal amount to remove the pack easily.
- Dry for at least 2 hours.
- For stronger coloration, apply before going to bed at night and remove the next morning.
- After drying completely, remove slowly starting from the head of the eyebrow.
- Do not remove the pack forcibly since it may pull out the eyebrow.
- Do not use a cleansing product (product with detergency) or apply force on the eyebrow area within 24 hours of using the product.
Here’s how I did it:
My impressions:
+ I’m rather delighted with the initial result. My eyebrows look as though I dyed them with the alcanna in the beauty salon. I like the fact that in the morning I don’t need to fill in my brows, as they already look good, and the only product that I use is a clear brow gel to shape them up.
- They recommend not to wet the tinted eyebrows for the next 24 hours which I find very long. Once I neglected this tip and ended up with my eyebrows looking yellow.
I had to conceal them properly, as they looked awful. But if you follow all the instructions, then you'll have your brows beautifully tinted for a week! But when the tint stars fading after a few days, the yellow brows come back again. And stay on for 2-3 days! That’s why I take away one star. And one more star for the pulled out hairs. There were about 3-4 hairs pulled out from each brow! I’m very upset about it, since my eyebrows aren’t thick and numerous at all. Even though I was very carefully keeping my finger near the brows while peeling the gel off, I still lost lots of hairs. I can’t even imagine what might have happened if I didn’t.
Overall:
The product is interesting and unusual. But I find it as a product just for fun. It’s a product to try out once and that’s all. I won’t repurchase it again. I’ll still come back to filling in and shaping my brows with eyebrow products every morning.
