Hello! ✌
I’ll start off with my demands to a setting powder. I’m 38 years old. My skin is mixed and I can already see the first signs of aging, that’s obvious. I try to reduce those signs as much as I can. 🙂 So, I don’t ever need matte finish, leave it for those 20-year-old girls outside. I need my skin texture smooth due to the optical illusion and healthy glowing skin finish. In a world, I want my face to appear fresh, not heavy with foundations or mask-esque in the finish.
So, I’ve got this Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder as a deluxe sample which I received from a Sephora monthly box.
The full size is huge - 28g. My travel-friendly pack offers 7.8g.
The price is $32/$18 relatively.
It comes in 8 shades. I have my mini in the shade Butter which is the second fair one in the color collection.
Made in Italy.
As for the list of ingredients, it doesn’t excite me since talc is the first ingredient. As for the good, I can list the Squalane which is fourth on the list and that’s responsible for skin hydration.
You’ve got to use a setting powder right. If you want baking, you can apply it generously to the places which you want to bake. However, if you expect blurring and makeup setting from it, make sure to apply minimum on your brush and then literally polish it into your skin for the most natural finish ever.
The powder quickly adjusts to my skin color thanks to the finest grain. It visually cancels out my pores, smoothes out my skin texture and color and then blurs my skin with a beautiful glow. It erases the oily sheen yet doesn’t look dead matte.
I don’t even detect it on my skin, so be sure, unless it’s boiling hot, your skin is matte and beautiful for about
4 hours, that’s a fact. Again, I’m telling you about my experience with it where my skin is mixed.
In general, I love this powder. But I really doubt that I’d go for the full size. You see, I’m so much in love with my Hourglass setting powder that I’m not ready to replace it with anything at the moment. 🙂 Besides, the Hourglass powder is talc-free and in fact, its list of ingredients seems to be way better.
However, if you want to go for a big size for lesser money, yet want to get nice quality and results, why not stop on this one? On the other hand, its shelf life is 12 months while the full size is impressive. But I still believe that a powder product has a much longer shelf life than what they usually state. 😉
