Hello everyone!
Today I’d like to review a BB cream from Holika Holika. The thing is that some girls recommended I try this foundation after I said that Holika Holika Clearing Petit BB Cream was a total disappointment for me… However, this product doesn’t suit me either and I’m going to tell you why
The brand has changed the design a few years ago, so take that into account when purchasing. If the tube has an old design, then you have an expired product.
The pink tube is quite pretty, but it looks very cheap, which actually corresponds to its price. However, I had even more inexpensive foundations that looked more stylish than this one.
At first the product was covered in a plastic film.
It’s OK, but I would like the nozzle to be also covered as most of Korean cosmetics are. This range lacks it.
On the back you can see the information in Korean.
Price point: $9
Volume: 30 ml
Honestly, it’s not enough for me.
Smell: Oh, the smell! It’s very nice and floral at the beginning… But the thing is that it’s very potent and intense. It drives me crazy! I feel it for about 2 hours or more on me! I don’t get it! What’s the sense of adding such a strong fragrance? This is one of the reasons I don’t want to use it frequently.
Consistency: On the contrary, in terms of the consistency, I love it. The foundation is medium thick and spreads out on my skin really well.
The product is thought to add a shimmering effect and it actually does add it. It has a shimmering finish, which I love.
Shimmering effect
Shade: Here, I’d like to compare the foundation with the Holika Holika Clearing Petit BB Cream that turned out to be too dark for me. I hope you all see that the Holika Holika Shimmering Petit BB Cream is lighter and has a neutral undertone. HOWEVER, the shade is still too dark for me
I don’t know how to put it… But I see that it looks like a mask on me and doesn’t want to adjust my skin tone… Even a foundation from Maybelline is better and has a lighter shade…
Holika Holika Shimmering Petit BB Cream is the lightest in the range, so keep that in mind, but it’s not for truly fair skinned girls like me.
My skin: I have normal and sometimes problematic skin, if I treat it in the wrong way. I have clogged pores and occasional redness.
Before and after photos: The coverage is very bad and I hope you see it. It evens out my skin tone, but looks like a mask on me, which is especially obvious in reality. By the way, the shimmering effect is hardly noticeable on my face as opposed to the effect on my hand. It doesn’t conceal my large pores either. A powder does it better.
Plus, I feel the foundation on my skin. It absorbs almost completely and feels somewhat sticky.
It wears around 3-4 hours on me and then an oily sheen appears. Moreover, it seems like the BB cream disappears and stops concealing all my imperfections. But I’ve found a way out: I mix this foundation with a white makeup base and apply a white fixing powder on top. Thus it looks alright, but I’m not ready to do this every day!
To sum up, I’m not pleased with the results. I guess the Korean BB creams are just not for me. They are too dark, have a bad coverage and do not last long. The smell drives me crazy and I don’t like that it looks like a mask on me without even using any highlighter, blushes, etc… The Shimmering version is clearly better than Clearing, but it’s not my cup of tea either. Although the product is highly recommended on the Internet, I can’t give it more than 3 stars…
Thank you for reading, guys!
Yours,
Infanty
