Hello people! Finally, after 1.5 years of using this Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder, I’m here to write a review of it. 🙂
Fill weight - 10.5g
Made in the USA
It’s a translucent, fragrance-free powder with a nice sifter. It also comes packed into a deluxe sample packaging for everyone who doubts and needs to test it out first. Actually, that was the deluxe sample that I received from Sephora that made me fall for it. 😍

So, the powder is finely milled and thanks to the sifter, there’s always the right amount of it to use.

Also, it’s travel-friendly because I know it won’t pop open and spill everything.
The ingredients list states synthetic sapphire and diamond powder, at least, this is what they say. I don’t know, maybe that’s due to those two components or maybe something else but the powder is infused with jet milled glowing bits. Yet, it doesn’t look shiny on my face, aka bareMinerals but really very subtle and delicate glow that visually smoothes out my skin texture and its flaws.

It applies smoothly over all my foundations and doesn’t crease, clump or settle into pores. It doesn’t weigh down my makeup and no mask-esque finish! It doesn’t clog pores or dry out my skin.
I’m 38 years old and my skin is aging. I don’t need dead matte finish or sparkling shine on my face. All I need is a beautifully blurred and natural skin finish that will also last good.
Below, I’ll show you the picture where I’d been wearing my makeup for 16 hours. I’d worn it for the entire working day and then headed for a picnic. It was boiling outside but my makeup was still there fresh and beautiful.

As for the dupes, well, more or less similar might be these 2 powders from Fenty and Cover FX.
I took those shots with a flashlight and also zoomed.

Finish-wise, the Fenty Beauty powder will be more or less close. But when it comes to the ingredients, then Cover FX is better. But they’re both more or less the same. None of them can actually make me fall apart from my cherished Hourglass. 🙂
Truly recommended. 👍 This product is worth all the money it costs.
