The Huda Beauty brand was created by the popular blogger Huda Kattan and her sisters. I can’t say that I’ve ever been a worshiper of the “American makeup” but these lipsticks used to be so hyped that it was impossible to withstand. That’s why I decided to test out a set of nude lipsticks in the shades Trendsetter and Bombshell.
So, the set is awesome package-wise (respect to you, marketing Huda Beauty managers). Here you can see a picture of Huda herself. The matte box offers the lipsticks inside as well as guidance on the application.
The lipsticks are small matte tubes with tiny sponges.
The set includes:
- a lip liner in the shade Trendsetter (full-size)
- a lipstick in the same shade Trendsetter (a mini of 1.81g). It’s such a warm-toned brown nude color
- a lipstick in the shade Bombshell (a mini of 1.81g). Such a peach nude with a pink note to it.

The shades of the products are obviously warm-toned and they’ll definitely suit people with warm-toned and swarthy skins. If your skin is pink-toned or fair, then they are very likely to look too red over you. I’m something in between (in winter), that’s why a bronzer is a lifesaver for me.
The lip liner is gorgeous. It reminds me of my favorite MAC lip liners, which are also soft, buttery, easy to sharpen and use. I like filling my lips with them and wear alone.
A few words about the lipsticks:
liquid texture (they are almost the same as runny Lime Crime lippies)
the smell is strong and vanilla-like
they have dope pigmentation
they don’t apply streaky or accentuate flaking skin
the coverage is velvety and really comfortable. (I mean they are really velvety and not clay-like on my lips).
the texture is a tad tacky (it isn’t an issue at all and for me, it’s a good sign of a comfortable wear on my lips)
the products really stay on the whole day if I wear them with a lip liner.
There’s only one downside and it comes to the shade Bombshell. You see, the lipstick here feathers, making my lips appear as though chapped. But a lip primer can save the situation, as well as a wide smile before the product’s drying out.

Over and out: these aren’t excellent products. If you’re afraid of matte textures due to all those discomforting feelings on the lips, then I can guarantee that you won’t face such a problem with these lipsticks. My lips are fine throughout the day and always look as though just touched-up. Such a beautiful and velvety finish, which really reminds me of my favorite Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip products. So lively and tempting.
