Greetings!

I’m not really a Huda fan, but there’s is something beckoning about this woman, you know, something that makes me follow all her new releases.

A year ago I promised myself that I would never buy another product from Huda but of course, I didn’t keep the promise.

This concealer intrigued me. I use concealers every day and I thought it would be great to find an alternative to my favorite Tarte Shape Tape. Plus, the tube promised full coverage without creasing and I decided to take a risk, though, again, I didn’t feel optimistic about it. And I was right.

Weight: 0,34 oz.

Shelf-life: 12 months

Made in Italy.

Appearance:

The concealer is housed in a soft black tube with a screw top. The tube collects all the fingerprints which I have to remove regularly and with furious anger.

The unusual zamac tip is its unique feature. It gives a nice cooling effect, and is handy when it comes to covering under eye circles.

This kind of tip has a serious drawback: it gets messy after each use and I have to wipe it again and again.

My shade is Marshmallow 02 B with pink and peachy undertones. There are 20 shades in the range for any skin color. They promise 31% pure pigment. The formula is very dense and dry. I’m more into creamy consistencies, you see.

It gives a matte finish with a gentle glow and looks great in studio-quality photos thanks to those tiny light-reflecting particles. That’s it. The list of pros is over.

The concealer dries quickly. Very quickly. It takes about 10-15 seconds, provided that the coat is thin. Sometimes I didn’t have enough time to blend it properly and got an ugly layer of dried clay on my face. By the way, it’s hard to make the coat truly thin. Maybe that’s why Huda and other bloggers apply it in a thick layer, otherwise it’s impossible to blend.

This concealer should be applied with a wet Beauty blender or a finger. Dense brushes would simply smear it over your face.

It accentuates whatever can be accentuated, all invisible flaky spots and uneven skin, clogged pores, little imperfections, scars etc. As a result, I get a horrible dry mask on my face.

I heard this tends to oxidize, but I didn’t notice it.

You can find the photo below:

I thought Huda would be merciful and wouldn’t add that horrible perfume to her new creation, but no, it’s the same chemical rose. I couldn’t use the last foundation because of it being so overwhelming. Luckily, the fragrance in the concealer is less strong and I stop smelling it after 15 minutes.

I bought this concealer hoping to cover my dark circles, but it’s far from perfect. At first, the concealer does sit well without creasing and covers what must be covered (I use a setting powder over it). But after an hour, the concealer starts settling into fine lines. Another layer of powder doesn’t stop the process.

A photo:

It looks fresh and beautiful only from a distance and right after application.

Marshmallow: Aqua (Water), Ethyl Trisiloxane, Dimethicone, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Polyglyceryl-2 Isostearate/Dimer Dilinoleate Copolymer, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Caprylyl Methicone, Propanediol, Glycerin, Talc, Diisostearyl Malate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Albizia Julibrissin (Silk Tree) Bark Extract, Sodium Chloride, Hydrogen Dimethicone, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caffeine, Isododecane, Butylene Glycol, C30-45 Alkyl Cetearyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrasodium Edta, Anastatica Hierochuntica (True Rose-Of-Jericho) Extract, Silica, Parfum (Fragrance), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool, Lactobacillus Ferment, Darutoside, Aluminum Hydroxide, [+/- Ci 77499 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77491 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77492 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide)]

Those prone to sensitive skin and acne should be very careful because this concealer may cause unwanted side reactions.

My thoughts:

Huda couldn’t impress me with her masterpiece, again, even though I’m passionate about concealers and I’m ready to buy tons of them.

By the way, the concealer claims to suit any skin type, and such claims confuse me, because even on my skin, it emphasizes all little dry spots, and I fear to imagine what it would do on dry skin.

It’s easy to evaluate makeup products: the more fuss, the less stars I give. I want to wake up and apply a quick makeup, which is impossible with this concealer. I give it its well deserved 2 stars.
