I’m on a lookout for my perfect glowing foundation. I’ve already tried out Shiseido Synchro Skin Glow and Nars Sheer Glow. So, it’s high time to test out the Laura Mercier foundation. Moreover, I’ve heard so many rave reviews of it.
Packaging: see-through glass with a golden top cap. It’s good and gives out a small drop of the product.
Size: 30ml
Price: $48
Shelf life: 12 months
Made in: the USA
Fragrance-free
Shade: all in all, there are 30 shades in the color line-up and I was hoping that the 1C0 Cameo would be the lightest one but no. For me, it’s too dark or yellow but when I blend it out, it doesn’t appear so odd then, plus I can also save the situation with a concealer.
About my skin: it’s very pale, mixed, more prone to dryness and flaking skin around my nose. Sometimes I can see big pores on my cheeks, reddening and peach hair.
my nude skin with a moisturizer
From a foundation I need: no accentuating flaking skin bits, or pores or peach hair. I also don’t want it to appear oily or dry out or break out my skin. I want it to provide a natural-glowing finish and decent staying power for at least 8 hours.
Application: the foundation is rather thick, it doesn’t run down like Shiseido or Nars products. It’s also easy to blend out with a brush or a beauty blender. No stripy finish. It doesn’t set immediately.
I apply it all over my face right from the tube or on a brush first and then distribute it. I can also pat my concealer dottily and then blend everything out with a beauty blender so as it soaks in all the undesired amount of the product.
I need 3 pump presses for my face and neck. So, I guess 30ml will be enough for me to use within about 5 months.
Results:
foundation only
foundation only
medium coverage- it doesn’t cover up my reddening but it smoothes out my complexion
it’s almost invisible on my skin
the finish is natural and glowing
it sets completely and then it feels satiny on my face
it doesn’t oxidize and adjusts to my skin color a little
it doesn’t accentuate flaking skin or pores or peach hair
my skin doesn’t burst out with oil
it doesn’t dry out my skin
it doesn’t irritate or make me break out
This is what it looks like paired with a concealer. This isn’t actually my favorite concealer because it can also define my peach hair and define flaking skin.

Staying power and removing: Mainly, the staying power would depend on your powder and concealer, but since I’ve been using them for a long time, I can compare the results I get with different foundations. This foundation is able to live through high temperatures, it won’t fade from my nose or chin and in general, it can still remain decent for 8 hours.
When it’s hot as hell, my T-zone can be oily. But with this Laura Mercier foundation, I don’t have to use blotting paper or touch-up with powder.
I wash all my foundations with a cleansing balm and a microfiber glove first. Then I wash my face with a facial cleanser because my skin is problematic and my pores can be congested very quickly. And I can assure you that it isn’t so easy to wash it off from my hand, though. So, it’s better not to take that risk so don’t try to wash it only with micellar water or a facial cleanser.
Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Foundation is on my top-3 best foundation list but I still won’t repurchase because of the shade. I need a lighter one for me.
