I longed to try Diamond Crushers since I first saw their promo photos, although I knew that it was all about the right light exposure. Nevertheless, there is no denying that the color range is fantastic!
About the packaging:
The lip topper comes in a literally brilliant transparent tube with a pink glittering lid. You can see the iridescent shade through the tube. The volume is quite big, i.e 4.4ml, while Lime Crime Velvetines is only 2.6ml.
The texture surprised me in a good way. I thought that it would be claying, but it turned out to be liquid with much glitter to it. The texture is lightweight and smells very nice.
The Black Unicorn is a glittering sapphire shade with blue, pink and silver specks. I knew that the shade could be hard to apply due to its dark color. However, it was fine. You just need to top it with another coat after the first one has dried out. Thus it offers quite the “wow” effect.
Right: one coat. Left: two coats
The light shades give great payoff on the first try, so I’m not going to give this lip topper less stars for that.
Here I’ve applied the Lime Crime Black Velvet as a base:
Although I put two coats on my lips, they don’t feel tight or heavy. Thanks to the gel-like texture I feel comfortable wearing the lipstick.
The coverage winds up being lightweight, which is great for a liquid glittering lipstick.
Longevity: It survives after drinks and snacks, but it doesn’t after greasy food.
The product is not ophthalmologist tested, but I don’t really care, because I definitely wanted to try the lipstick on my eyelids.
I’ve applied the product to a black matte shade and got smokey eyes that were visible from a distance. This wears about 5 hours on me and survives after the restaurant and a nightclub.
Overall summary: The hamster is happy and wants some more shades!
