Hello there!
Black Friday is probably one of the most important days for me!
I adore the Venus palettes from Lime Crime.
My first “serious” purchase from the brand was their first palette. I bought it more than 3 years ago and still, it remains one of my favorite.
I couldn’t pass by the new Venus babes. I was too drawn by this gray color selection.
I bought it from the official site with a discount.
In comparison with all the other Venus palettes, this one is really tiny. But I find it so handy and travel-friendly. It’s compact, yet still enough for a full eye makeup.
Perfection!
No mirror or brushes were provided, which, I think, is for the better.
The refill pans are of the same size as the other Venus palettes.
The back of the palette shows the components used and the shade names.
And now, get ready for a pile of swatches
These shades are gorgeous. I bought this palette when I didn’t even have a look at the swatches online and now I’m head over heels with it!
For a comparison, I applied these swatches with a brush. Nothing else was used, just my nude skin, no primers or setting sprays.
And now my impressions of use. I’ll tell you about each shade and about the palette in general.
Crescent: It’s great for blending. It’s very soft and well-pigmented for blending. You can try to pack it but I need it for a light smokey effect.
Sterling: Light sparkling silver. In my book, this is the new shimmer formula of Venus. It’s a cute and unobtrusive hue.
Luminous: One more shimmering shade. I take it as cool-toned old copper. The color is adorned with a myriad of chunky shimmer.
Plated: It’s a starring shade of the palette. An excellent gray shade with a hint of brown color. It’s softer than usual matte shades from the Venus palettes.
The blending and packing are fine. I adore it.
In general, the formula is different here. The matte shades are softer and falling out. But I can forgive that fall out because of that softness. As for the shimmers, yes, they are always chunky. This is visible when I swatch them with a brush. They apply much better if I use a good primer or a wet brush.
As always, the pigmentation is gorgeous here. And the color selection is perfect in my book.
The wear time is fantastic, till the moment I remove them.
The palette after I’ve finished applying my makeup. You can see how dusty the shades are.
And now, some makeup looks, which I managed to do with the Venus XS Silver Palette.
This was my first makeup with the new palette. Luminous is in the center of my lid, applied with a wet brush.
And here I also decided to include some pigments from my stash.
And this is such a practical mono-makeup.
Full look.
I love this palette. I’m a huge Venus fan and I guess I’ll keep on buying them forever. Maybe, if I find them discounted, I’ll also buy some other shades from the collection.
As for this one, I think that it’ll be a great choice for all the fans, like myself. It’s a good palette when you want to try out gray shades for your makeup but you don’t want to buy a huge palette.
Not recommended as a first impression of Venus palettes, because it’s different quality-wise. 4.5 stars objectively for the fallout.
And 5 stars subjectively!
Thanks for your attention to my post!<3
