Hello makeup junkies! For a long time I was dreaming of having this so hyped concealer by Maybelline. And while travelling I actually managed to get my hands on it. I was so happy! I’ve been using it a lot so I have a rather profound opinion of it which I’m going to tell you now.
General impression
For me this Instant Age Rewind Concealer has become a concealer that I use on a daily basis. My under eye skin is very thin with some well visible wrinkles there (I have expressive facial gestures) so there are a lot of products in my collection which crease a little and sit in the wrinkles of my face. I also don’t like my concealers as they tend to show all the flakey bits on my face. But speaking about this concealer, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that even after setting my under eye area with a powder my skin still didn’t look aging.
Packaging
The concealer comes in a rather weird shaped tube for me, which is completely different from any concealer that I’ve ever had. The cute plastic tube has a soft sponge with a pump to make the concealer come out when you twist it.
The functioning resembles pen concealers, though there’s a sponge instead of a brush at the end. At first I wasn’t sure that this applicator would be convenient to use, though after trying it out, I’ve managed to assess all its advantages. The sponge applicator applies the product with a thinner layer providing a more even coverage which is way easier to blend out. There are 6 ml of the product in the tube. Even if you use this concealer everyday it’ll still go a long way.
Texture
The Instant Age Rewind Concealer has pleasant to the touch and creamy consistency which gives a lightweight dewy finish. You have to bear in mind that the product doesn’t dry down with a matte finish, so if you want to wear your concealer for a long time, you’d better powder it to prevent creasing. However, thanks to its creamy texture, the product doesn’t look cakey on the skin.
*My shade is 120 Light - it has natural-looking neutral undertones without any true pink or yellow pigment to it that beautifully highlights my skin.
Application and result
*My main problems are blue spots in the inner corners of the eyes, purple under eye bags as well as visible blood vessels (that’s all because my under eye skin which is too thin)
After the application of the Instant Age Rewind Concealer I can clearly see that my skin tone becomes more even and smooth, though at the same time my wrinkles don’t looks accentuated.
This is how the product looks in my full makeup:
And this is it after 4 hours of wearing - the creasing is minimal which is already a triumph for me! =)
The bottom line
I want to say it here that if you have serious dark circles, or for example your blood vessels are visible from afar, this concealer won’t be much of a help for you. You see, it offers good coverage though it isn’t too thick. Thanks to this lightweight coverage, my under eyes don’t look like of a 90-year-old granny. What’s more this Instant Age Rewind Concealer isn’t a go-to for you if you want to do an evening makeup when there can’t be even a hint of any blemishes on your skin.
As for me, I can’t stop being happy with my little discovery! It’s my must-have because I do daytime makeup much more often than heavy and evening-like makeup look.
I highly recommend this concealer for everybody who likes lightweight textures on the under eye skin!
Have a nice shopping day and a great mood!
Thanks for reading my post! =)
