The Maybelline THE 24karat NUDES palette was released in December 2016.
The design is typical for all THE NUDES eye shadows - a small plastic box, this time it’s golden and lives up to its name 24 karat. Unchanged, remaining in the plastic transparent window where you can see all the shades inside. At the back of the palette there are different makeup schemes.
The palette opens up easily and closes tightly. The palette comes with a short brush and an ordinary sponge.
In the USA the palette is named THE 24k NUDES, in Europe it is THE 24karat NUDES. The difference is not only in the names. In the American version the eye shadows are deeply set in the refills and separated, in the European the eye shadows are almost at the same level and fitted very tightly. They also say that the quality is different but I can’t compare as I’ve got only one packaging.
I liked Maybelline THE 24karat NUDES at first sight, there are all the beautiful shades combined together - golden, purple, dark-green. The manufacturer says that the eye shadows quality became better, that they are almost creamy now and I can say that it’s true. When I was in the shop I didn’t know anything about the new formula but I noticed the pleasant silkiness, and creamy texture in some shades.
Maybelline THE 24karat NUDES consists of 12 shades. Let’s look at each one more attentively. I’ll show them in the rows as they go.
Top
1) Middle pigmentation, peachy shimmer
2) Chocolate-brown matte with great pigmentation
3) Silver shimmer, which is beautiful as a highlighter
4) Light-beige shade with big shimmer inside, dry, falls out when applied
5) Matte shade of skin color, perfect for blending
6) Creamy gold, great pigmentation, soft texture
The swatches are done in the shadow, in the sun and with a photo flash. I didn’t use the primer.

1) Middle-pigmented light beige shimmer one
2) Brown-purple shade, dry I wanted to use sticky primer under it
3) Dark-green shade, highly pigmented one
4) Black-grey matte shade, creamy with good pigmentation
5) Bronze shimmer, creamy with great pigmentation
6) Grey-black shimmer with great pigmentation

What can I say about the characteristics of Maybelline THE 24karat NUDES? The manufacturer didn’t lie when claimed that the quality has got better (in comparison with The Rock Nudes Palette). The pigmentation of dark shades is on the highest level, the purple is a bit worse, but it can be corrected with a good primer. The one which isn't very good is #4 from the top row as it crumbles but it also can be corrected. The product is easy to get on the brush and put onto the skin without being muddy. I’ve found no difficulties blending them. They don’t dust, just the shimmer can fall out a bit in some shades. I wear them with primer only. These eye shadows stay with me till makeup removal.
