When Maybelline NY The Nudes palette appeared on the market, I didn’t have a great desire to buy it. Why? Because my beauty collection is full of different palettes, so it’s very difficult to surprise me with any palette, and the most important is that I don’t actually use many of them. But one day, my mom decided to treat me with a present and it was Maybelline NY The Nudes palette. I was very glad, because I would have never bought it myself, because of the described reasons.
The first thing that I noticed was its compact size: the small rectangular case of black plastic and a transparent plastic top, where you can see all the shades through. Unfortunately, the presentable appearance of the palette is quickly lost, as I leave fingerprints on it and the scratches and chips are also appear very quickly.
The palette opens very easily with no great effort and closes tightly, which is a great advantage.
By the way, the top cover fixes under any angle, so it makes it very easy to use the product.
Inside there’s a small two-sided applicator. From the one side it’s long and thin and from the other it’s wide. But actually, I don’t use it, for me it’s better to use brushes.
When we open the palette, we can see that there’s no mirror! So, if you’re planning to travel with it, bear this factor in mind. For example you could use a mirror from another product, or just take a small one with you.
The eyeshadows don’t have any scent, maybe just a very light sweet smell, which is very difficult to make out.
In the palette MAYBELLINE The Nudes there are 12 eyeshadows, 5 of them are absolutely matte, the rest are satin and shimmer. All the shadows are presented in the grey-brown color-range, though, there’s one coal-black hue, as well as two white-pearl hues.
Texture-wise, the eyeshadows are quite creamy, they are easily applied on the brush, but, unfortunately, many of them fall out and dust. In the photo below you can see how the shades look like with no base or primer.
In my opinion this palette is a breakthrough in mass market. The eyeshadows are so easy to apply, they are well-pigmented (with some exception in white ones, you’ll need to layer them, but the dark and bronze ones look stunning on the eyelids), they’re easy to blend and it’s almost impossible to stain with them.
If you ask yourself: “Do I need this palette?”, “Will these eyeshadows be suitable my eye color?” etc. My answer is definitely YES! The color-range is so great, versatile and practical that it’ll define your natural eye color.
As for lasting power, I should say that I use these hues only with a primer, no matter, if it’s a morning make-up or evening. On my primer, the product stays all day long with one minus that they can lose their insensitivity, and that’s all.

I definitely recommend this palette for the beginners, as well as for lovers of calm and nude shades, with some dark color addition you can create beautiful evening makeup look. This product won’t take much of effort, it’ll do everything for you.
