Hello there!
Nars SUPER ORGASM Lip Gloss.
Does it really happen when you use this product? Let’s find out…
So, I didn’t have any products from the brand before this one. According to the sales rep, the brand claimed to be professional makeup, that’s why it’s so pricey.
NARS Cosmetics is a French cosmetics and skin care company founded by make-up artist and photographer François Nars in 1994. The cosmetics line began with twelve lipsticks sold at Barneys New York. Since then, NARS has created various multi-use beauty products and now is a subsidiary of Shiseido.
The full size for an item is $26.00. Oh, almost as much as Chanel or Dior makeup.
I liked the color of this SUPER ORGASM shade. At the moment when I was buying it, it was a hot September outside and on a whim, I grabbed this shade, while now when it’s cooler, I’m more drawn to saturated and deeply toned lipsticks. Whatever.
The lip gloss is of a peachy-pink color with a ton of glistening glitter to it. I hardly ever fall for glitter lip glosses but swatching this one, it felt like I liked it a lot. It looks so delicate and summer-like. All these particles shine so brightly in the sunlight, making my lips appear pouty and voluminous.
NARS Lip Gloss lavishes lips for subtle everyday glamour in a full spectrum of shades. Enriched with nourishing ingredients for long-lasting smooth, comfortable wear and a luminous shine. The doe-foot applicator smoothly glides across lips with comfort and precision, leaving deep shine and shimmering color with smooth, supple, non-sticky wear.
The casing somehow reminds me of the Chanel products: black and matte top cap with the NARS capture, along with a see-through bottom.
The applicator sponge is unremarkable. Soft, convenient and rather usual. It takes out the right amount of the product which is sufficient for my lips on one go for a neat application.
The smell is barely there. It’s difficult to catch it.
The texture is thick, not runny and I like the way it distributes over my lips. Only thanks to that tacky texture of the product, my hair is always stuck on my lips.
And it’s also all that glitter to blame when my lips are covered with beaming particles, which shine brightly on my lips after the formula disappears. They are so difficult to remove by the way.
The staying power isn’t good, about 2 hours, given that I don’t eat or drink anything. Hence, the so-called Super Orgasm leaves only shiny glitter behind.
The formula doesn’t dry out my lips which is already good. However, I haven’t noticed any skin care as well from it.
Overall, after a month of use, I can say that the Nars products didn’t impress me at all. In the end, I have just a good lip gloss which is nothing special, you know. For the money it costs, Dior came up with a Lacquer Plump Lacquered Lip Ink and Givenchy invented a new applicator.
So, if there are glitter worshipers here among the readers of my review, then you can have a shot of this product, but in all other respects, there are many other lip glosses which are cheaper and more sophisticated.
