Hello, pretties! I keep on showing you my collection of lip products, which is growing really rapidly. Today I’ll tell you about my favorite nude lipsticks from ColourPop Ultra Gloss Lip.
The design of the lip glosses is absolutely identical with the liquid lipsticks by the brand. Here we can see the same cheap plastic, easy to scratch top cap and quickly disappearing lettering. Within a couple of weeks spent in my purse, the lip glosses don’t look appealing so to speak.
Country of manufacturing - USA
Size - 2.4g.
The products are gel-like and a little bit thick texture-wise. Due to that texture, the products are super easy to apply over my lips evenly. (Yet not always, when it comes to the Fairy Floss shade though). The gloss is really vibrant and the tacky feel is bearable.
I appreciate that the formula is non-bleeding. I also haven’t noticed any creasing with a film on my inner lip.
The smell is weird. It reminds me of something made of plastic. And the same goes to the flavor of the products.
The lip glosses have a tiny applicator, which takes out a good amount of the product, even though it does look rather small. That amount is enough to cover my lips.
The color selection is rich there. Everybody will find a match. For me, I chose the shades Fairy Floss and Atole. Both shades are different not only in the color but also in the way they perform on my lips.
The Fairy Floss shade is a neutral beige nude. It doesn’t seem sheer as it gives custom coverage.
And I was already almost happy and ready to scream with delight when it seemed as though I found my perfect nude lipstick when I had to face the music. Even the swatch shows how awfully the product accentuates the skin texture. And the same goes to my lips. Besides, I don’t know why but the shade looks surprising whitened pink on my lips and not at all beige.
One thin layer of the product looks more or less bearable on my lips. The most important thing is to apply it evenly and neatly. It’s better to wipe the applicator over the rims of the tube beforehand.
Because if you accidentally overdo the product and apply more, then it’ll look bizarre. Like if you applied too much foundation to your lip and then covered it with a transparent lip gloss, aka “hello 2000”.
However, I like the Atole shade more! First of all, the shade. Look at that! I’m a fan of everything rose gold and I collect cosmetic products of this color. It was a must for me to buy it.
Secondly, this lip gloss performs much better on my lips than the previous one. It still does settle into my fine lines, but it’s almost undetectable.
However, there’s still a thing to be picky about. In my opinion, there’s too much of the pearlescent casting here. I wish it was more lightweight and sheer. Yet still, I’m head over heels with this shade.
The ColourPop Ultra Gloss Lip products aren’t bad - wide color selection, pleasant formula and standard wear time (for about 2 hours). Moreover, the price is wallet-friendly. But I deem that I won’t repurchase or fill in my collection with some other shades from the line because I’m too repelled by the aroma and taste they have. But still, maybe I’ll grab some other stunning shades on sale one day.
