Hello everybody!

As many other girls I’m dreaming of having beautiful and perfect face features. And even though my cheekbones aren’t as high as I’d like them to be and my nose is far from being perfect, I still believe that there are makeup techniques like contouring so all girls can make their features pop.

And it seems to me that I’ve found a perfect contour palette - which is NoUBA To Sculpt Face Contouring Palette.

I have mine in the color 20 Light.

Contouring is a makeup technique that uses cosmetics to define, enhance and sculpt the structure of the face or other body parts, such as breasts.

Contouring is usually produced by placing a warm or cool toned colour that is one or two shades darker than the skin color in areas such as in the hollows of the cheeks, on the side of the nose, and on the temples to give a shadow and slimming effect. It can be complemented with a highlighter that is one or two shades lighter than the skin color on areas of the face that is more prominent such as on the apples on the cheeks and the tip of the nose or the t-zone.

The product comes packaged with a back cardboard box as all the other product by NoUBA brand. Inside the box you’ll find instructions and the product description, as well as the palette itself.

I really like the compact of the To Sculpt palette. It’s made of a glossy black plastic. The palette is rather flat which is so great for convenient storage. Of course its surface is a fingerprint magnet, but it isn’t so critical for me. The huge mirror turns all the 360 degrees which is super convenient while doing my makeup.

The product is dry texture-wise hence it’s very easy to blend and make the powders look less obvious on the skin, unlike the creamy textures for instance.

The compact houses 2 powders:

The darker product is a contouring powder, while the lighter powder is a highlighter. Both of these powders are matte and they have a very small grain. They are pleasant to the touch and they don’t dust during application.

Unfortunately, my camera distorts the image a little because the darker shade looks different in life. In reality it’s more cool-toned and it doesn’t look red at all.

And now I’ll tell you the difference between a HIGHLIGHTER and ILLUMINATOR/ and CONTOUR POWDER and a BRONZER:

You might wonder, why is this highlighter matte? Because there are so many people we take the information from and we don’t even think about what’s right when the word has already become viral.

Highlighter is a matte or satin texture-wise product which is aimed at highlighting the face features like: triangle under-eye area, forehead centre, brow bone and bridge of the nose. But the product that we usually apply over our cheekbones and Cupid’s bow that shines and glows should be an illuminizer.

The same goes to contour powders. The contouring product is a matte brown-toned or gray-toned powder which is to define out cheekbones, make less eye-catching sides of the forehead and nose, while a bronzer is a warm-toned brown powder, usually infused with shimmer which is to be applied with a fluffy brush all over the face or some particular face features to make the skin look “sun-kissed”. It mustn’t be used as a contouring powder or applied over the cheekbones.

As I’ve already mentioned, my camera distorts the image and makes the darker shade look more warm-toned brown. On my skin it looks cool-toned which is perfect for contouring.

THE BOTTOM LINE

This is how my face looks with a lightweight veil of a powder on. No contouring products were used.

Here I tried my best to show you how I make my cheekbones look more defined with the help of a wedged brush and the darker shade from the palette. I also applied a little bit of a product to the sides of my nose to make it appear smaller and under my lower lip, which will make it visually more pout and full. If you have a big forehead, you can also apply a little bit of the product on your hairline to make the forehead look smaller. But I don’t do it, since my forehead is okay.

In the photo below I applied the lighter powder on my under-eye area, over the cheekbones and a tad on the brow bones and forehead center. This way my skin looks fresher, doesn’t it?

The bottom line. I don’t know what you think about this product but I do really like the result on my face very much.
