Well, I have to confess that sleeping and rest do not affect the appearance of the dark circles I constantly have under my eyes. I’ve tried a lot of products to fight this problem but now I understand that there’s no cure. I just have to live with what I have and only a concealer can help me out.
I bought this very concealer to give it a go and just because I was curious. I’ve been on a fence for quite sometime about trying something by NYX brand. Most of all I was attracted by the fairest color in the line.
The shade is a classic Ivory which will flatter fair skinned girls on the level from 1 to 3. I understand that this product can’t hide my dark circles fully as there isn’t enough of the pigment to it. If you look at your inner corners of the eyes you’ll see that there’s almost no yellow or orange pigments on the skin. That’s why we need to use additional products to neutralize discoloration.
My concealer isn’t of yellow or orange color, so it's logical that it won’t hide the dark under eye circles. But it’ll work great as a concealer to hide wrinkles, especially those around my nose.
I can see no point of speaking about the packaging. It’s usual for a concealer with a doe foot applicator wand. The plastic is of good quality, the top cap closes tightly and in general the product looks good for a professional cosmetic brand. We are used to seeing golden captions and other posh details on a high-end products, but this one is simple and classy.
The consistency is a tad thicker than I thought it would be. Some people will find the product a little bit dry as there are no oils in the ingredients. You should be quick to work with this product as it sets pretty quickly. The pigmentation is average, it’s enough to hide my blemishes.
To get a better coverage and a thicker effect you need to dab the product into the skin with your fingers. Don't even try to spread the product broadly over your skin as it’ll lead to no coverage and effect.
The product doesn’t dry out my under eye area, even if I do apply it there. I always use moisturizing creams and serums to give extra moisture to my skin.
The product goes a long way and this small tube was enough for 8 months of everyday use. The leftovers I had to get out with a small brush though.
The price is about $5 but you can find it on sale.
